Ok, now you have DirectX installed you run the dxdiag tool and it will tell you
a lot of things about your computer.
click on the start button and open the run box and enter dxdiag and push enter.
Then at the top of the page click on the display tab.
There it will say what brand of graphics card you have and it's model information.
When you gather that information open a web browser and go to your card
manufacture's website and download the latest driver for it and install the new driver.
Unless you post your system information here that's as much as I can say. -

pen/pencil and paper or .txt document. And keep that so next time you have a problem you will have it handy.
Then type it here exactly as it is shown. There are two different sections on that tab for Display.
On the left is Device. On the right is Drivers.
Put it here.
In the tab that says System put the system information here also if you want me to help you any farther. -

There are two things that I see that may be hampering your game
experience is that your graphics card is 1 version below the minimum
requirements to run the game.
It says on the download page for crossfire the most minimal version of
graphics card capable to run the game is a 5600 yours is a 5500.
The other thing that really sticks out is your graphics driver... It's over 7 years
old. hehehe.
We can update that and your system drivers if you post the screenshot of your
System tab. -

When I ask them they always tell me to look in the forum which I already have. When I ask them I specifically tel them not to tell me to look in the forum because I already have looked, but guess what? They still tell me to look in the forum. This is my support ticket.
I said "I have this really annoying problem where when I join a room a little box keeps appearing saying "vertex lock failed". Then when I actually join the game I respawn as usual but my screen is black and all I can see is the water that is the the map. Somtimes I saw a few fuzzy lines aswell. Can you please help me? Dont tell me to go look in the forum as usual because this time i already have and nothing is there, Thanks."
They said "Please try our common solutions for issues, which can be found at the following link: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=52579. If you require further assistance, please post in our Tech Support forum"
I said "Firsty I told you not to tell me to look in the forums because i already have. Secondy I posted a thread and looked though all of the threads and no one seems to have a solution? So please help?"
They are just lazy ass holes..
In all of your support requests you have provided zero help for us.
Tier 1 support is obviously going to send you to our common solutions.
If you go to the common solutions thread it says that most of the solutions there will solve the problems. Have you tried them yet? Looking at the forum may not reveal the exact wording of your particular error. But have you tried the solutions yet?
If the answer is no. Then perhaps the support people aren't as lazy as you might be appearing to be.
For example, reinstalling the game can solve a TON of simple problems with the game.
There is also a clear post on updating your video card drivers (which might be causing this error).
Lastly, because there are thousands of other people playing the game without this error, we obviously don't have enough information to properly diagnose or reproduce the error to get it fixed. In these cases you need to provide us with information we can use.
Information we can use are things like:- The last thing you did to try and fix the problem?
- Have you reinstalled the game?
- Your computer specs? Including video card
- Have you tried to update your video card drivers?
- The status of your firewall/anti virus and if you have taken any of the steps in the common solutions thread regarding those things?
- Screenshots of the error? If the game is still running and the screen is black, take a screen shot?
If you keep sending tickets (on weekends especially) with messages like "omg the game keeps giving me an error what do I do". You are constantly going to be getting the tier 1 response for computer tech support. Which is to go to the forums and check the main common solutions.
Since you have provided zero information to tell us that you have or have not done any of that, you will continue to get a pretty standard answer. -

Ok. this is your Computer model number PN131AA-ABU t750.uk from HP.
If this is your computer http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=436535&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk
I would then click on the drivers Software & Driver Downloads and select Windows XP and click next.
Then download and install the Audio and Keyboard/mouse drivers.
Then go to Nvidia.com and download and install the last update to your old graphics card
driver in existence. GeForce Release 175
That's as far as I can help you. Someone else will have to take it from there.
Good Luck. -

You're welcome.
To answer your question, Yes.
Here's how. You can open many processes while you have the game running.
Open lot's of browser windows and tabs. Also Do a anti-virus scan and download
something while your trying to play. All together will give you some effect of
lowered FPS.
I really don't know why you would want to lower it though. Most people
prefer an increase to FPS.
70-90 FPS is quite a reasonable range for your system being so sold. -

Well, you could try overclocking your equipment but that gets pretty technical
if you're not worried about frying your rig that is an option. You may or may
not see much improvement if you do since your rig is so old. When I test mine
I step everything up in increments of 2% at time until I find the last stable
clock. Then back it off 2% when i find the best stable setting because of
heating issues.
If you have a new mother board built in the last few years you can more than
likely do all that from software without having to go into the bios.
You could try NVIDIA System Tools with ESA Support
But I don't think you're going to gain much from the specs that you provided
you have a very limited equipment in your computer that was available
at the time they made it. Motherboard Specifications, K8S-LA (Salmon)
You have only 512MB of memory in your system. The board supports up to
2GB. You have only a 2.2 Ghz CPU, the board supports up to a 2.4Ghz.
It's very limited what you can do with what you have. You have a lot of
things
being written to your hard drive swap file, virtual memory/page file, whatever
you want to call it because you have very limited memory and that will more
than likely be causing you lag when the system tries to read from a slow
hard drive when it should be reading from memory only on a game rig. If you
want things to go fast you need more memory a faster CPU and better video
card.
I helped you to get the game to run. But that's about all it's going to do on
your current computer.
