I am not sure if it is a right conclusion.
I experience game fps drop when there is lots of smoke -- I am not sure about the flash, at that moment I can not see anything
And if someone keeps throw smoke around me, my fan will roar very quickly. And I will more likely to have mouse or key board stick problem. The ping can increase sometimes -- I am not quite sure why.
But the conclusion is, smoke cause cpu usage increase (this was one of old strategy in CS), and the sticky mouse is caused by cpu busy. (I have notice that when background process running -- like antivirus update, I would experience some sticky mouse when doing burst with several other teammate)
And the cross fire is not using dual core now.
Not sure if it right.

Conclusion: Your computer is from the 80's or chinese people can't code for their lives. Probably a mix of the two.
same you should also check your fps if you close to a box and shoot the box lol my fps drops to 5 xD.
and dear i sayed this right afther the patch you get more fps now prepare for more fps drops xD -
Smokes don't affect me nor do flashes but that's because the fps is locked at ~200 since the patch and could be way higher so smoke/flash or not my fps stays the same.
I notice extreme fps drops from time to time when using xfire. One second it's smooth and cool and the second.after it get's all choppy and hard to play. Half a year ago fraps dropped me down to 1fps sometimes. Weird but it doesn't really matter.
What would help fps lags would be disabling everybody's chat when joining a game.
Maybe z8 could add an option to disable chat and a big window on which you could tick weapons/items you want to ban from your game. -
You are talking in absurd language... 200 FPS wooooa !!!
I play at a max of 80-100 (average 40-60) and i dont get FPS drop when i'm ins smoke or flash, but, when chat is full of QQ's and pre writed phrases i get an huge fps drop to 10-15.
Why letters make this??? -

You're right in leading to that conclusion... and with that higher CPU usage, it would lead to higher chance of overheating, to which the fan quickly does some cycles to cool it down.
Sticky keys... I don't know man...
OT: I can't really tell when I'm flashed, cause I'm practically blind... but I think I do fine. Smoke ain't that bad... need to remind myself to purchase that smoke helmet though

Smoke sucks up fps......no idea why probably the coding for the smoke interfears with the graphics of the map and than causes graphic fights! and than booooom fps drop!
Something like that probably...
Cross fire only uses 2 cores or more if your pc really has 2 cores and not like a P4
Where it has 1 core and than hyperthreads(Virtualized a second core)
That will not work for cross fire.... I tried everything to get it to work but it failz -
I have both nades (Smoke and Flash) in all my bags (4) but I don't use then unless I need to, Cuz my FPS is **** already!!!
Anyway, Smoke and Spray makes the highest problems to my PC ( I need to change it anyway)
Flash Cuz me death tho...
For the Fan rawr and hardware stuff u're having... Buddy; U're probably an illusionist :P -
Yeah, sometimes when I get flashed I can't move at all (computer freezes can't move mouse)
And I get around 180 constant fps, smoke is no problem, doesn't make it go up or down.
I can not tell. But I have fell to death once when I got flashed, so I think I still can move.
However, sometimes after flash is over, I find I am still in the same place -- I am supposed to run to the humvee.
I have thought it is a game setting. Which means in panic we cannot move. -

I was running the game on my laptop. The wind from the vent is always hot. But occasionally the fan will start roll faster, you can hear it. When there are different colors of smokes, my fan make lots of noise.
My CPU is dual core. I have task manager running during the game, I can switch back to see the cpu usage, 50%, and one core is fully loaded ---- I remember someone conclude the fps increase is because of dual core usage, not for me, I have 100fps now, but only one core is running the game.
While if this is true, I remember my old p4 computer constantly have sticky mouse problem when there is some background process takes 100% cpu usage. It somewhat feel exactly like the sticky mouse in game.
I never look at the fps during flash. Because during that time, I really think I should see nothing

I only notice the fps drop when there is auto spamming. I normally start/ask for a vote against those who spam it.
Mostly spam I have seen is some cheat site. They repeat thousands of times. I have seen two kids from same clan spam. One of them is kicked by me. The other I can do nothing.
