CF is capped at 200 FPS. NOT 500 fps.

Ok let me clear something up

1. Fraps is not capped at 200
2. Before the spring patch my fps was about 400-500
3. After my fps is around 230.
4. If I'm right you can't get a 300+ fps anymore, my rig is kinda the best of the best (pm me for specs) and I get capped at 230 my OS is W7 x64 bu XP x86 gives me the same results (multiboot)

I get more than 200~250 FPS in-game sometimes .. so how is it capped?

ATI HD 6970 2 GB.

And pressing TAB while in game screws up the FPS cap. Sometimes spikes to 230 then slowly goes back down.

Lol? I sometimes get more than 200 FPS, it's not capped for me I think. I believe that fraps has a limit of 200 FPS.

I have the sapphire hd6950 2gb and most of the time I'm around 200fps... I seem to be exactly at 200.0 fps quite a bit which leads me to believe there's something in the game that wants it there.

I have gone up to 234 though.

(got my new computer after the patch so all this was from after the patch)

It's a bug.
Sometimes, especially when someone throws smoke or nades, or when you press TAB, the FPS uncaps slightly, usually up to 230 fps tops. Root cause of this (which I don't think anyone here knows) is that the game doesn't use a proper fullscreen 3D directX mode. It's actually running in some sort of fake windowed mode (this is why forcing V-sync through standard video drivers doesn't work in windows XP in this game, and using Ati Tray tools or D3doverrider (or you Nvidia guys) to force it (e.g. in Vista/W7 or XP), causes bizarre mouse problems and you aim worse than Barry Bonds when he's not on steroids....

You can tell by trying to alt tab while in game. You will still see the game screen, with the screen frozen, while your desktop is visible. This isn't supposed to happen on true fullscreen 3D, even if the windows desktop and in game are the same resolution.

Note that Sudden Attack and Silkroad Online use the exact same video mode.

And to those who said you used to get 500 FPS, Yeah I remember that; used to get that high back during the Suba days.

BTW before the last patch, in-game was still capped at 200 ~230 spikes for me, but the lobby would go over 800....

Thanks, I didn't know that. So basicly that's why some, on a full hd monitor (1080p) under win7, had the game windowed in the top left corner at thr size of the chosen resolution.
I don't know how they fixed it though. Mine was fixed with a GPU update (reminds me I haven't updated it in a while, got to do that this afternoon).

Btw I liked that glitch because even though CF wasn't centered (making it somehow harder to aim) I could watch videos or even a movie at the same time

I doubt anybody knew about this.

Hey. Im 15 and seriously not all of us are bad. just in this case half of them are immature idiots that give us a bad light but i will never agree with an 18 + clan. I run my own clan and liturally i got 50 odd members id say half are under 18 . Not one has given anyone any grief. So for real. We arnt all bad lol. As for the kids that say 500 fps

I don't spike at all. I hold a constant 230-250 fps and sometimes spike higher than that. I never drop below 200 fps. Malte from LifeLine will also argue your theory as well as [MOD]Deadeye who gets upwards towards 300fps in-game. Sorry bud, but you're incorrect.

Nah there's no cap if there is it's only for certain players my clanmate uses an alienware and get a constant 700fps and 650+ in 8v8 And I run Ina 3v3 around 190-230 ish once Ina blue

I call bullshiet, even the 4 grand alienware cant run crossfire at 700 fps or even 600+ fps
