New Game
I'm making a game with two of my friends. (I'm looking for more to help us) We're making a medieval/gothic/fantasy RPG.
It will use Unreal Engine 3 with Directx 11 support. It will feature Tesselation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c_PVtMIz-A) and next gen graphics.
What would your perfect RPG be like? We'd love to hear your input. I'm also gonna be posting progress screenshots in this thread.
Also, if you feel like you need to hit me with the banhammer;
"[NESL-CF Admin]Blind Rob: as long as it's in off topic" (:

There's no "gammer" that play a single game anyway, and even if i play your game i might still play cf. XD
anyway if you need help for idea or whatever let me know, I actualy study in Cinema but before I were in Game Developement/Gaming community and stuff =D
So the perfect rpg, is a lot about the game play, the fact that you can do whatever you want at time you take your time to evolve your character. Unlike a fps or a strategy that is more about your experience of the game itself. It must be very flexible has some opposite faction to bring player vs player, and also party things, as example a dungeon or whatever. -

Something similar to Fallout 3, a mix of that, combined with ways of gaining knowledge, either through books, or experiences. -

Cutting down trees and digging might be possible (thanks to tesselation.:)). But it would be hard to get it to work with a fotorealistic game. There's a difference between ~100 Cubes, and a LOT of polygons.

- Equipment changes the looks of your char.
- Impossibility to beat the game with a poorly built char.
- Preferably a big freedom in char building
° One starting class with 2 choices out of 9/10 skill trees.
° A few starting classes with 1/2 choices out of 4/5 skill trees.
° Many starting classes with set skill trees.
- Balance
- Time restriction on potions
- Equipment with sockets
- Leveling up from quest/kill xp, giving X skill points and X attribute points.
- Not too many wild animals to kill, animals tend to get boring.
- I prefer 3rd person view, but looks like it's going to be 1st.
- Make it gloomy, with some cave areas.
