The support team are lazy idiots..

Everytime I have a problem I ask the support team for help because i can't find my problem in the forum. When I ask them they always tell me to look in the forum which I already have. When I ask them I specifically tel them not to tell me to look in the forum because I already have looked, but guess what? They still tell me to look in the forum. This is my support ticket.

I said "I have this really annoying problem where when I join a room a little box keeps appearing saying "vertex lock failed". Then when I actually join the game I respawn as usual but my screen is black and all I can see is the water that is the the map. Somtimes I saw a few fuzzy lines aswell. Can you please help me? Dont tell me to go look in the forum as usual because this time i already have and nothing is there, Thanks."

They said "Please try our common solutions for issues, which can be found at the following link: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=52579. If you require further assistance, please post in our Tech Support forum"

I said "Firsty I told you not to tell me to look in the forums because i already have. Secondy I posted a thread and looked though all of the threads and no one seems to have a solution? So please help?"

They are just lazy ass holes..

  • ... so don't bother with them just post it on the forum and hopefully some1 will help you out.

    So what's your problem?
  • The tech support about not being able to buy ZP I requested 2011-03-24 is still open and unanswered. I want to give them money but they don't want it :P

Not to mention the hack reports that open already closed... Alpha Server is completely dominated by hacks!

Thats too long to have waited.. Resubmit a ticket Monday morning rather than sitting there and complaining.

Hack reports will never be replied to.. hence the closed status

No, Support arent ment to deal with Technical Support, Thats why we have this section. Did you do what they said and made a thread?

Like Giggle has said, they dont deal with tech support there.
1 Have you done any driver updates lately?
2 Worse case scenario I would uninstall the game and make sure anti virus is off...then download and install again.

If you started a thread, then Im sure someone will try to help you. But with info you gave here, no one can help you.

It could be a DirectX problem since he mentions vertex locking
  • They seriously dont even look at hack reports.
  • Have you updated your graphics cards drivers? Are you running the latest Directx?
  • ...Support arent ment to deal with Technical Support, Thats why we have this section.

    Are you serious?

Then why does z8 say they do?

It says they handle technical issues with grace and satisfaction
until you have your problem resolved right there... for each game.

This is what the FAQ says what to expect from the support section.
    http://support.z8games.com/index.aspx?tb=z8&cid=2
Scroll down to number 6 on the list.

    "6. Support
Access support topics on Z8Games features and services, as well as technical help for each game. If you have an issue that is not addressed in any help topic, you can submit a support ticket to a member of our technical team and they will get back to you with a solution right away."

Not entirely sure what they mean by that but Support dont have time to answer people that can be answered on the forum. Which is why they gave a link here. They only resolve problem that can only be resolved by them

I'm no expert on it. And I don't know what hardware you're working with, but I think vertex has something to do with the vertex shading with
    your graphics card.
I'm using winxp. This is what I'd do in this order. Check to make sure you have the OpenGL32.dll library either in WINDOWS\SYSTEM, WINNT\SYSTEM32 or WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directories.
Here's some good info at the OpenGL wiki if you're intrested.
    http://www.opengl.org/wiki/Getting_started

Then I would download and reinstall directX from microsoft.
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=3b170b25-abab-4bc3-ae91-50ceb6d8fa8d
Then I would download and reinstall my graphices card drivers. The latest release of
open GL will be installed when you update your graphics card drivers.
Then I would uninstall crossfire. restart my computer. Look for your game directory for crossfire and
delete that if it's still there. Then look in the my documents and find the crossfire folder and delete
everything in that folder except any recordings and screenshots you want to keep. then download and
use CCleaner from piriform tools to clean the system and clean the registry.
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/update?
    Restart again.
run CCleaner again for good measures. Then download a fresh copy of crossfire and install it. And see what happens.

And if all that fails, then my friend you are in the same boat as me.

ok im confused, how do i do all of that? o.O
  • Not entirely sure what they mean by that but Support dont have time to answer people that can be answered on the forum. Which is why they gave a link here. They only resolve problem that can only be resolved by them

Do you mean can or can't be answered on the forum? I'm sure most people
are smart enough to look on the forum to find a solution first and use
common sense to update their software drivers and what not before
submitting a technical support ticket to resolve a bug just as their statement
    says.

It means exactly what it says it means...

"Access support topics on Z8Games features and services, as well as technical help for each game. If you have an issue that is not addressed in any help topic, you can submit a support ticket to a member of our technical team and they will get back to you with a solution right away."

Then if they can't do that then that is complete and utter lie to the people
needing help or you are wrong.

Or maybe I'm just expecting to much from a company that I've been
    supporting with my dollars.

Whichever the case may be, the above quoted statement says in detail what
the z8 technical team will do, they "will get back to you with a solution right
    away."

And the definition of solution in this sense means "The state of being solved."

What are you having trouble with?

Just do one at a time. I would do it in the order I wrote it. Someone once told me that directX overwrites some files installed by your graphics card drivers.

Generally your graphics card drivers will have the more recently updated files
that directX replaces since directX isn't updated that often anymore.

Ok, delete your opengl library and tell me if the game will start...lol
    seriously.

I don't care if does or doesn't, but it gets updated when you install fresh
    graphics drivers.
  • Well, I dont know how to "Check to make sure you have the OpenGL32.dll library either in WINDOWS\SYSTEM, WINNT\SYSTEM32 or WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directories." or "Then I would download and reinstall directX from microsoft." or "Then I would download and reinstall my graphices card drivers." & "Look for your game directory for crossfire and

Maybe you can find someone to show you there on your pc how to open
and close those folders and search. Sorry, but I'm stumped as to how to help
you if you can't do that.

They are in the C drive on this pc.

ok dont worry, ive found that openGL32 thingy :P
  • I was going to suggest you find one of these great books
    http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=546&q=windows+for+dummies&btnG=Google+Search

Ok, so now just download and update your directX and your graphics card drivers.
    Uninstall crossfire.
    CLean your pc with CCleaner.
Delete the crossfire install directory if it still exists in your program files directory if that's
where you installed it to. Delete everything in the crossfire folder in your my documents folder unless you want to keep your screenshots and replays.
Restart your computer again and run CCleaner once more.
Download and install the latest version of crossfire.
Cross your fingers and start the game.
I'm going to go play now. Good luck.
  • ive updated my directx, but how do i do the graphic card drivers? o.O
