Do CF Accounts get deleted after time?

Accounts that lose their stuff probably had an account that the security was compromised on.

Or they decided they didn't want to play any more. Gave it to their clan mate (against the rules). Forgot about it. Came back 2 years later to log in and found they had nothing. Sent in 15 support tickets to complain when it clearly states not to share accounts. And clogged up the system for everyone else who had a legitimate question.

(ps there is a lesson here about account security)

How do you lose your IGN though? When I logged in to some of those accounts (correct pass and login name), the game was asking me to create a new name. Why does it ask me to create a new name? It was like the account never existed but I remember making them a year ago. I've never shared my account info with anyone. I don't even know anyone ingame.
