Okay as some of you know im planning to host a contest.

I would really like to know if any of you have any ideas that could make it fun, run more effective.

Also if anyone wants to help me organise PM me and we can talk

Also please dont be afraid to post anything useful would be nice.

No flaming No Bs. just ideas or suggestions.

Well seeing from your name, you're in the UK so the US contestants might have a slight ping advantage.. Which means that the competition would have to be split from US and UK to keep the ping levels a bit even.

I think depending on how many ppl compete, we can split into 2 teams. The team captains would be decided by 2 games of FFA. The 2 winners of the FFA will be the captains and then they may draft which players they wish to have.

Then we can have team competitions ranging from SnD,TDM, weapon only and so-on.The elimination process would be based on either performance or by which player recieves the most votes to be kicked out of the competition. Many ways to do this.

I suggest having WOGL-like rules so no one comes out with a Tommy or a M12.

And in the end, maybe we could have an All-Star battle of our own where the winning team from the US competition can fight against the winning team from the UK division. It would be a series of 2 games. The mode will be decided on votes and one game will be in the US servers and the other in the UK servers which would allow both teams to have ping advantage and disadvantages.

Another idea would be to set the games to teams such as 7v7, so there can be one/two Referees watching the game in Spectator mode, to both

I) Prevent people from haccusating, as well as preventing cheaters from getting away with it, and

II) Keep people from having to have a Ref on their team who has to nade themselves to death to Referee.

hmm anyway i know im going to host it but im going to pop in a few things what im considering.
Would it be best to get everyone to make a SS just before the match/s start? so i can be sure that there not using armour?

and secondly would you prefere Esl or Wogl rules?.

Basically what vmiami said. As for the rules, I'd like to just have a simple "no scrub items"

And the person with either mvp or ace will get the zp.

These last few weeks have been my first playing an FPS game in over 2 years.
But before that, I spent 10 years playing FPS, I like to think i have a few nice ideas for player hosted events.
This event wont be as big as WOGL etc.... So why make it Clan/Team based?.

My idea is a pretty simple, 2v2/3v3 event.

It will ofcourse have 2 divisions, Europe and North America.
It consists of a Knockout event, Where everyone who signs up, is randomly split into a bracket, Example;

Team 1
vs
Team 2

Team 3
vs
Team 4

etc... and so on.
With the winning team from each bracket playing each other in the next round, eventually until the last team is the winner, Example

Team 1 or Team 2 Winner
vs
Team 3 or Team 4 Winner

This event can be any gametype, Such as TDM / S'n'D, GM.

The Rules should obviously be thought of carefully, Suggestions include;

Weapon Limits, ie. No Scar Lights, M12's etc... (to be decided by DarkArts)
Ping Cap, ie. 150 max ping - Because no1 likes playing with laggers, especially in a tournament.
Players can only signup for 1 event, Euro or NA, only 1. (i ping around 100 in NA servers, and im english)
Tournament Staff - Players not signed up for this tournament, who can spectate the matches, and lookout for ***/glitchers. (suggest 2-3 per match)
(Tournament staff should be active and non biased)
Players, if they win should save/upload the replay.
Maps should be chosen for each round, with notice, so each team has time to train tactics on them.
The Semi finals (last 4 teams) should play 2 maps, and the Final play 3 maps.
Map rounds/time/kills Should be decided by DarkArts.
All players who signup should have a certain rank - and have the honerable badge.

My suggestion is open to improvement/changes.

eu acho que a mais util seria a AWM knife seria bem legal se tivesse por que ai quando os cara viesem na faca quem ta de awm nao ia precisar troca pra faca nem fugir

I think we should have a ping limit of 100 at the most. Last thing we need are laggers sliding around thinking they're pro when in actuality, they're running around in-humanly.

The only exception would be for the "All-Star" game where both UK and US teams would face each other just for fun.

sorry to burst your bubble but its actually really hard to do good with high ping. trust me.
