resolutions?

So, Since about august I haven't played crossfire anymore, because I bought a new pc, and I have a widescreen, and CF doesn't support it (even though they say they do). I asked for it back then to fix this, and yesterday a friend of me irl, who was a clanmate of me back in the days I was active, started playing CF again, he told me I should come back as well, because there was a fix for the widescreen stuff he said.

So I installed crossfire again, I tried it, and guess what...

still nothing...

so: I have a widescreen, I use resolution 1920x1080 on windows, which is quite widescreen imo. Also I have a videocard that was created back in those days @ august, so it still is quite new, so no, it's not because of having an old videocard or anything like that.

Anyway, I open crossfire, and I can only play on 800x600 or 1024x768, because when I choose for widescreen resolution, crossfire says my monitor does not support widescreen (quite strange because I have widescreen on windows, and play all my other games on widescreen, crossfire is the only game that's refusing to let me widescreen...)

my drivers are also up to date, that's not the problem. So anyway, because of this game not supporting my widescreen I have black bars on my screen for more than half of my screen, which is quite annoying... It's not really handy to aim on a window that is 25% of my full screen. I mean, what's the difference between full screen & window mode if both only fill up the exact same 25% of my screen, but full screen just showing black bars around it instead of my background?

Anyway, I had posted this back in august, it seems that it's still not fixed, and I'm quite wondering when something will finally happen about this. Thanks!
