It was the same phenomenon with the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and the 2010 Haïti Earthquake.
Every day, there are more people dying from starvation (or hunger-related issues) than were killed in the 2011 Japan Earthquake.
EVERY DAY.
Can you make people donate money to that cause every day ?
Can you attract people's attention on this issue every day ?
Can the media keep talking about it all year long ?
No. People can't give money every day, and talking about a problem all the time would make it an annoyance.
That's why you have International Observances. You can focus an entire day or week to one major problem, have people's attention and get them to give money to help.
Is it easier to give 20$ on a specific day, or 5 cents every day ?
This is just how humans work. They can't worry about foreign people having problems in distant countries every day, especially over their own daily problems. They wouldn't be able to achieve a lot otherwise.
Would I keep writing my message if I thought of all the kids that died of starvation since I started it ? Could you play CrossFire knowing some child has to work half of the day just to have something to eat ?And you know what's funny. Have you heard about global warming again in the media now?
I sure haven't. Because it's a scam. Many scientists proved that it's just a cycle.
I keep hearing of the global warming (I think it's more a climate change btw) all the time and it's everything (a political topic to get elected, a trend to make people buy "organic" food or whatever environmentally-friendly bs you sell, etc.) but a scam.
Climate changes sure happened before mankind could do **** to tamper with it, but if you deny the impact our industries and societies had during the last 100 year you're misinformed.France? no they are just good at wine.

the newspaper, tv is manipulating us there is always something running for day-weeks , like revolution of tunis->egypt->Lybia then came the earthquake in japan and now u only hear japan japan japan.
Everybody says ohhhh poor Japan but there are millions of ppl wich are more poor. But thats the nature of the human. -

People are forgetting japan has allot of lovers...
And I mean like in Anime and Tech
and don't forget peeps even if it's the end of the world a hospital/doctor will ask for money to help you but the redcross won't
Even in rich countries not everybody can pay the doctor bill or the hospital bill...
And over millions of people are hitted by the earthquake and thousands of thousands of people are hurt at this moment there are like what 10 thousands people dead
and there are still 16 thousand people missing even more missing everyday

Well in 3rd world countries people as you said, have been living like that for long periods of time. They are used to it, or as used as you can be to living like that. They know how to make the best out of nothing and survive in the harsh environments. The people in Japan are like kids that have grown up here, most of them only knowing the hardships that we experience with our actually very luxurious lives (if you compare them to 3rd world countries anyway.) We're talking about countless people that suddenly have no where to go and no idea where to start, people who don't know how to handle living with nothing when they had everything. Btw, this isn't supporting that we should support either, it's simply a theory. I think you should support whoever you can afford to and thank God or whoever/whatever that you have what you have.

For obvious reasons, but the point is, Z8 is at least advertising to help send money to Japan, even if it is not through Z8. -
not saying they shouldnt advertize about it, THAT is ok..... just saying they shouldnt use it to boost the profits they make daily......... they are mixing zp with donations... what they should do is add a way to donate money to jap, and keeping 100% profit on zp....
the way they put it is:
"You want to donate money to help Japan? U have to buy ZP"
to me, that looks WAY too much like a scam... why? betting u a million bucks they are never gonna say to the public how much money they made for japan.... why? cause silence is golden, we all know it.
If you can understand Ask/Offer and do some maths you can understand what I'm saying.

It's more beneficial to help a civilized nation get back up. Japan is HUGE in the global economy, while Haiti, for example, was hardly even heard of until there was their earthquake. And even with all the money we dumped in to Haiti, they're still just as uncivilized as they were five years ago.
