To deal with Hackers, I have a great suggestion

Right now, the autoban system is working but I see hackers more and more. I have an idea which is easy and more effective.

Right now,

1. autoban only ban 7 days,

2. hackers know that X-trap is updated (just see the downloading dialog box), then the hacker won't log in, he will just wait for the next version of hack, so we will see lots of hackers regardless of X-trap updates. ONLY those careless hackers, those who are not reading warning updates from the hacker's website, will be banned.

As per Saidin's interview: the autoban system is always right. OK, here it comes:

if autoban detects a violation/hack, DONNOT BAN the hacker right away, just flag them. You may set a date, like every Friday, ban all the hackers detected last week for at least a month, because in most of the hackers' website, a hacker has to pay on a monthly basis, if you ban the hacker for 1 month, so:

Right now:

play---ban x 1 week ---- wait for new hack + wait for a week --- continue to hack

play --- X-trap is downloading/updating --- wait for a new hack --- continue to hack without being detected

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After my suggestion:
play --- no problem --- continue to hack --- ban x 1 month who knows when it happens= money wasted
more and more hackers just fall into this trap
Like Saidin said in the interview, to deal with the hack problem, we must make certain people change the way they play the game:
let them hack, which they have no idea that their accounts have already been flagged --- ban x 1 month : This is a good idea
If you want to punish someone, sometimes you need to allure certain guys into the trap, then teach them a lesson.
  • Permanent IP ban would just work better.
    Doesn't matter if they have brother, sister who 'also plays the game' and claim unfair IP ban, they shouldn't have such a stupid sibling.
  • NO, Permanent IP ban? especially in certain countries, people play in an internet cafe, many players, not necessarily knowing each other, having the same IP, if you permanent ban certain IPs, innocent people will get banned.
    Adulf Hitler is a monster, do you want to kill all German?
    Player will complain to cafe owner, cafe owner will monitor player to avoid them to get their ip banned.
    Comparing IP ban with Hitler?
  • Do you think internet cafe owner will and want to look into this matter? not necessarily.
    However in this way, G8games starts to lose money, because there will be a notice in certain internet cafes "play crossfire at your own risk, you may get IP banned", so less people play this game anymore, bad for the company = bad for us players I believe.
  • I post this thread because I think this is a good idea to change the way people play this game.
    Bad things happen===> you need to step in, not laying back and WAIT things to happen.
    I am not QQing in this thread, I just share with others an idea, which is easy and efficient, less man power invested, good for the company = good for us.
    So they will lose some money, because crossfire fire player has to find another cafe to play games.
    I heard someone said they are providing hacking code. At least this way will make them think twice.
    The amount of hack I face everyday is countless.Just one shot kill and aim bot hacker.Most of them now.They don't even get kicked.Whatever patch z8 games introduce they somehow able to hack.So what is the reason behind giving new patch?It has become really annoying now days.After playing 1 year continuously I decide to quit this game.It is 4 days now on trot that I can not able to play this game freely.Where ever I see there r hackers.I understand z8 games trying to patch all hack but z8 games also need to understand that work without result has no value.U will only get your value when u can give result with your work.As I am not the only player who play CF , u all must face a lots of hackers.So discussion about hack and getting reasonable answer about the measurement should be the main topic here in forum.And other things comes second in my opinion.If u can not play game what will u do to know the value of m4a1 spring or new added pistol?
    what if they change IP
    Z8games also have a notice "don't hack, you account might be banned". But we still have hackers. The count seems increasing.
    1. we know their notice is not as powerful as their ribbon.
    2. we know the player base would not quit because of they can not play in one cafe -- they can try other cafe, and even have their own internet.
    3. play in cafe is risky.
    Let them change.
    1. The best is the through the proxy, but there must be delay.
    2. If they can change ip so easily, then just let them do it. Z8 can do nothing if the hacker is so powerful to have a huge ip pool.
    ========================================
    Honestly:
    1. I think hardware ban sounds better.
    2. I think no matter what we suggested, it will take years to be implemented. Currently there are lots of pink guns to make, then there are green and blue ones.
    3. I think we'd better just accept the fact that hacker is out of control now, and find a clan to play in the locked room for safety.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    4. Hackers will grow up, once they grow up, they might not hack any more :), and the new generation will already learn that the game is full of hackers, they will be scared to join because there are lots of hack site published in lobby, so they have much less resource of hack than those who already hack here :)

    plus most people's routers now a days get new ip's after a reboot.
  • Oh wait it's this thread again.

    Useless imo

    /thread.
  • banning by IP really wouldn't be a good idea as most residential customers get dynamically assigned IP's from their ISP's which means they change from time to time. It's also possible for them to be using wifi hot spots which would give them different IP's as well :(

    If the ip belongs to a residential service ip pool, then don't ban it.
    Use who is might help.
