my opinion on MMORPG vs FPS.

RPG - Generally nice people, complex gameplay, gets really old grinding. (5 level 80's not playing cata)

FPS - Nothing is more sexy then getting an ace in CS.

My opinion

Having played lots of FPS's and RPG's I can say that

In RPG's there is the rule of the strong

The greater the level the better the powers,the HP,the weapons,the armor, the greater the privileges
So level counts a lot so it's unfair for lower leveled people even if they have lots of experience in RPG's

In FPS though rank means nothing
You can do good on a low ranked char with starting guns because it's SKILL that matters
Behind FPS skill there is a whole science
Gamesense,ability to memorize tactics and execute them accordingly, knowledge of your gun and your teammates make it a challenge.


Overall you can't say which is better or worse
There can't be more different game categories
IMO though FPS games though are more challenging
