I almost did the contrary. I wanted to turn much more light than needed, switch my computer and tv and console at the same time.
Why ?

Because Earth doesn't deserve an hour... she deserves a lot more. You want a serious impact ? Stop throwing stupid events like this one and start doing real change.
We are currently ~6,900,000,000 humans, by 2050 we could be the double. Switching off lights during a measly one hour now isn't gonna change anything, especially when you think at long term (1 or 2 generations).
