what the heck happend to knife matches
in several knife matches people with as little as 5 ping difference from me are hitting me from 10-15 feet away with every weapon from knife to katana did. what the heck is causing this im using the temp shovel i got for my assassin badge but i cant hit someone but yet they hit me from the exact same distance apart
is this some kind of bug reg issue or what its rather annoying

ping is stabel fps are great almost always over 100
and as for shovel aless bud im more used to it then u think but this even happens when im using my perm axe and im so used to that its like my arm lolYou deserve to get fps lag killed every round for using shovel in any mode.

It happens to me to. The knifing rooms are lagging or the players or both. I dont know. I cant put the Network report from the game servers to tell you.
Just try to make the best of it, i'm sure Cf is going to patch it on the next release, which by the way. Does anyone know when that going to be release? -

I'm getting a lot of complaints that I have a long knife hack or whatnot.
And yes, this happens with low pingers a lot. They tend to have a more efficient style than other players, and they tend to have "longer" weapons.
i have around 39-45 ping depending on how many brs are in the room

I've never been accused of long knife, but I've been killed so many times from miles away and still I'm not used to it.
What I don't understand is how is this game working. Many times I go away from opponents shot, I see the guy hitting the blank space, but I'm still dead. What the hell, did I see the rerun? When the hell did he hit me? -

Everybody knows the reg... fails. I doubt it will ever get fixed. -

Yeah, I know about that but people say alot of things.
You were probably not a forumer yet but in September 2009 (I think) they announced UK servers for the upcomming patch. They said it was slightly delayed and we had to wait 6months or something like that.
Quit using Lime as you can see I'm the one using lime. Maybe pick yellow? -
The long knife distance has long been a skill used by those who are or are starting to become proficient at the game type. As for how it works (the timing) with other melee weapons I'm not too sure about as I've not used them (for the record, I've been playing this game for about 1.5 years...axe is cheap, shovel animation lags on the other guys screen).
Give this a try. Join a knife room and run up to preferrably someone else using a knife and as you get close to him, right click. As the knife draws back (the best way I can explain this via text is to say when the knife is basically off of your screen), start to backstep. With practice of timing, you'll learn to do it too. Since this skill is freely available to everyone, my opinion is that this specific thing shouldn't be fixed. If it was, it'd be like taking strafing out of shooting for those who like to knife. -
Yeah... Always have been happening, even when knife was the only melee weapon there was. Just something with the connections that either the server can't keep up with where ppl are or if there's a delay in sending in the messages to the servers.. It's something technical and since it's been happening for years to everyone, I think it's safe to say that it's not the users.
This also happens in bullets you know. When you die even though you're 10 feet behind a wall because of some lag shot. I really gave up on knifing, so my assassin badges are mainly built up of pistol kills. -
I had a shovel for over 120 days. Didn't used it once. Got 2x permanent axes instead. Sorry little bro, but I'm using weapons demanding skill. Oh well, you shovel ret@rds can't get it =/ ... Your problem might be your ping. Even if they are only 5 ping higher/lower than you, if you both have high pings, you will both lag on the other person's screen. In other words, if your ping is 200 and his is 205, each of you will be lagging for the other person. For all you know, the other person is probably having the same problem. The thing with ping/lag is, when you are lagging, people playing with you are really in a different spot than where they appear on your screen. That's what leads to tanking and long-distance knifing kills. So, where a guy is on his computer's screen might be a different spot than where he is on your screen because of your lag.

i have a perm axe too i use it all the time but with a 7 day shovel it kinda lvl the field with the laggy br's -

Btw Axe i find is just as bad, i mean come on 1 hit left click can be a huge advantage
