The words are twisted... accidently or intentionally to make sense with the Mayan calander thing.
Natural disasters have always happened. Go look up natural disaters and read on when and where and how often these things happen. They happen alot.. media often twists it to sell/ratings etc etc.
Tsunamis are generally caused by underwater earthquakes, and an eartquake this powerful was bound to cause chaos. There have been much much worse disasters than what has happened within the last 10 years or so.
People are trying to fit everything around the Mayan calander ending on Dec 2012. But most of it doesnt really add up...
The mayans didnt have just one calender. The one being referrd to is their Long Count one which did go up to Dec 21 2012. This was converted from their time measurement to our existing calender.
The Mayans have also stated dates exceeding 2012, at least well into the year 4000...
If they were so amazingly accurate in their predictions.... why didnt they predict their own demise?
Besides most predictions about the end of the world have been proven false...
MANY before the year 2000, and many after.. we're still here.. all based off of apparent "prophets". Chances are they were being paid for these predictions and hearing of the end of the world bought in good money.
Most predictions are vague and can apply to any number of situations... Nostradamus for example predicted 911 and the rise of Hitler but the explanations he gave were incredibly vague and more modern people saw certain similarities and tried to fit it around the predictions and go "OMG HE WAS RIGHT!" His prediction about the end of the world proved false... although it was an error in translation.. and after the "end of the world" the translations wrre checked and found to be wrong...
How do we know the scientists got it right? The Mayan calender certainly doesnt say, 21st December 2011.
Also this day seems to be quite convinient and falls on the Winter Solstice.
TL;DR?
Mayans were trolls
well said, did you know the bible states "the rapture" will happen 21 may 2011?
this is stupid people, go on with you're lifes, if it happens it happens there is nothing you can do to change it, we had Y2K, 6/6/2006 the 666, and now 21/may/2011 and then 21/december/2012? come on -

My point stands, no questions should be asked. You're all welcome for a heads up and time to prepare. The world will end like this: Taco Bell will brain wash all us fools, we;ll get obese, causing Chuck Norris to step in and round house kick us to our deaths. No, eff you Earth, you don't win. Chuck Norris once again does. -

Yeah, you can tell everyone, show everyone, but what will happen?
People are going to copy it and misuse it in countless different ways..
Or you can keep it for yourself, enjoy the beautiness of it with a thought it is exactly where it belongs ^^KissMeArse wrote: »So does the thought of you with slags I don't trust you

Since nobody's actually quoted a credible source in this thread, I'd like to refer you to this. The entire basis for the 2011 theory is that a bunch of numbers sort of add up to another bunch of numbers that may or may not have some kind of biblical significance. The 2011 theory is something Camping came up with after his 2008 predictions failed to happen.
While you're at it, here's a list of many prophecies with plenty of "evidence" that have for the most part failed to happen. All it takes is a bored college student and some pot to start a new conspiracy theory.
Pretty much what I tried to say.. you just said it better.... word genius
I always forget to cite my sources...I lose alot of Uni marks that wayKissMeArse wrote: »You got like £50mil I can loan?
50 mil to colonise mars?
It will have to be Terraformed to allow life... or some system to produce oxygen and allow plant life or you die... and a water source... and a form of containment since Mars has no atmosphere -

It costs almost that to build a rocket and to send it into space. Plus I'll need shoes, I know you cant actually live there but scientists think it's been inhabited before

So the whole thing is speaking about einstein, but the last sentence starts with "She claims..."? way to point the obvious... fake.
and IMO making people paranoid is gonna paralyze them, not making them change.... see all you do is panic, but what else?... just take a deep breath and try to think for 2 minutes like einstein would... "How can I prove them wrong?" (btw. that's how he understood relativity... proving the earth turns around the sun and not the opposite by taking pictures of a solar eclipse and mapping the stars....)
Don't think I'm trolling here but, prove me wrong.
Lol sorry guys but you need to learn how to read.... i said he proved relativity by thinking "How can I prove them wrong?" .... i meant that someone that is gonna think that way is gonna accomplish something, someone frozen by fear is gonna die in fear. really you guys trolls when u didnt understand the stuff people write, prove me wrong if you didnt understand what I explained?.... whatever im not even gonna push that further even if I would love to screw the screws that are loose in your head.... since you'll never learn to do it yourself. -

We're in March 2011 and already we have had floods and earthquakes in a few parts of the world. I also heard about this big ass comet that's gonna close orbit the earth wherever it's true or not I dunno.
I ain't the sort of mad person that goes around saying the end is nigh either, I'm just saying it's a bit too freaking weird.
This book was published 1996-10-24 so there is no way they are going off what has already happened.
Make your own minds up.
