Why report hackers?
Only what u get is "Sorry, there is no reply for this question." MTF
I think that web form is created to confuse and not report. Many hackers use letters and signs "not allowed" by CF - explain how and u want to report u r not allowed to use those characters. So just shut up and put up this game is created for hackers because they selling them hacks no skill. I am playing only because my friends and we normally play in closed room so there is no hackers. Problem is with missions etc but who cares go sell more hacks and make a stupid forms.

There are a million of you, like 6 - 7 MODS. Be patient and let them do their job. -

They really should send at least an automated response saying that they received it and will review it at some point. It might make people feel like their report isn't just going to get filed away and forgotten. -

good i dear and it would help them aswell bc people would continue to make the same report with a responce will make them calmer and know something is happening -
From the bottom of the hack report form.
- Hack Reports do not count towards your daily ticket limit.
- Replay Files (*.cfr files) are located in your “documents/Cross Fire/Replay” folder.
- .zip or .rar files will not be accepted for Cross Fire hack reports.
- There is no reply to hack reports.
Reports also go well for our information gathering. Things like types of hacks, peak times of day, multiple reported accts. trends etc etc. All this information gets used to improve handling hack reports.
We issue full bans when we confirm a hacker. Even if they've already been caught by the auto system. It really helps everyone when you help report the hackers in the system. -

Agreed on this point. I am really confused why these people apparently did some hard work, but their response makes the people think they are not doing anything.
An automatic reply is not hard, and it is not much harder to automatic tell the reporter what is the result, or to generate an page to hold ticket id and the result, if the player name that being banned is so sensitive.
From what I learned from the forum post and their reply, I can feel their review is much human resource intensive work. I am not sure if they would do some automation on this. But no matter what they will do, they basic solution is to reduce the false report. They have to motivate the players to do so. And they must create the environment to make it possible. Otherwise, the more player they have, the more review work to do, and the more complain they will get.
And they can not think they can depend on the x-trap and their autoban totally. We know x-trap would work perfectly for 1-2 days, but have to update at most once per week. So there are at least 5 days we need vote kick to be functional --- if hacker can be kicked by vote kick always, there would be much less hack complain. And they might need not to report to ban them if the hacker will be kicked after being found.
To protect ace players, they just need functionality to allow kicked player to report abuse and once confirmed, punish those who abuse it, depend on the apparentness of abuse. This need some improvement on the old system. But it is necessary, because anything without limitation and censor will be abused. And once the system is set up, there should be much less request for review ---- because naturally, less aced player would spend time to ask to punish a group of people ---- most people don't want to make more enemies.
And they should create a weekly report on the work they have done (like how many review processed, how many ban confirmed). It can be create automatically from the database. And it would not against their strange rule of "privacy". It is a simple way to let the community know the effort.
Just my opinion. -
Though I agree that an automated response to the initial hack submission would be nice, to the extent that I know that my submission has been recorded and filed for further viewing... but I am mostly content with the automatic closing of submissions.
To me, I believe that the support team gets swamped everyday, work long hours into the night to finish the reports from 2 days ago... or something like that. I would rather let them be, than say, asking them to reply to every ticket sent.
X-trap, they try, and it seems they do a better job than most anti-cheating programs, but I don't know much, so let me have my opinion on them.
Since the vote kick is being abused worse than heroin... I think it would be wise of Z8 to get the chance to maybe implement the VIP system that is present in the other CF versions... maybe not in our version, but like a closed "beta"... it would most definitely mean that only the VIP's could kick, while the rest could maybe "petition" for one? I truly do not know.
GhostsArch, it would be nice to have a statistics report from Z8games, but I think it would conflict with their policies in place, (I do not know which ones though), also that are there any games that provide said statistics?

Why would they have to be teenagers? If they are to be paid, then they would most likely have to sign contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other documents as anybody getting a job would... pretty complex stuff.
And their support team does in fact download as many hacks from as many sources to "analyze" and send patching info to Smilegate. -

If thats what they do, we'd be in deep trouble. -

I'm not going to report any more hackers if i don't get any feedback about the processing. And no i don't need an automated response. The hack reports are checked by humans and not machines and it takes several minutes if not more to check the replay file etc. Is it too much to ask to take 10 seconds to reply with a one sentence: "Thank you for your report, we have processed it" so i know that something is done with my report? Despite the mods here saying that every report will be processed i have my doubts.

They really should send at least an automated response saying that they received it and will review it at some point. It might make people feel like their report isn't just going to get filed away and forgotten.
now that's an intelligent solution. -
That's not a solution.. I and many others hate automated replies.. they don't tell you anything and it still might end up in the trash can.
I can imagine two solutions for this:
1. Each ticket has a number, and the forum can post which ticket number is confirmed, and which is denied. There is nothing about the privacy now, because the number is not a person. (so does IGN in fact, I don't know why).
2. Just update the number to being banned.
Many of the community just want to know there is progress. -
why dont you have gm's in game. many hak are so blatant they would save making a report. They openly admit they are haking and then come after the ppl who called them out. Its pathetic. I just came out of a game in which there were 5 ppl blatantly hacking and making fun of other players while trading haks and trying to scam other ppl into trading account for their haks. If you say you can't go in game and see for yourself then thats just sad. Why do yu need a report to ban someone so indifferent and ignorant that they will hak all day every day while laughing and admitting it at the same time. one guy (Russian-pro) said he was pro and he haks???? Thats sick and deluded. While he runs around one shot killing everyone he is claiming he is PRO. LMFAO sad!

Because they don't have enough GM to play in each room.
So we can only depend on the vote system to protect a game from being ruined. It is players' responsibility to protect their fun. But the majority of the player base is not active in doing it now.
Real Host Ban List might create some room that relatively cleaner for us to play in. But when the hacking is prevailing, people would doubt every good score (not even perfect). The host start to kick player after game, even though according to my experience, no hacker will stay to be kicked after the game, they normally exit the room and went back after the game started. On the other hand, with their tools, they don't need to have any favorite map.
And I have made other suggestion before about the reference of the performance of a player.
Method 1: Objective test ---- create a training room, where the position of the target is displayed as image on wall. Players are asked to shoot some of them at the beginning of the test, after the map is downloaded into local and saved as tmp. So they shoot the target, at different distance, different situation. And the result is processed in host side.
Because the image detection is hard to program, and the target is no more a moving object, the hacking tool would be very difficult to help. The speed and accuracy would help to reflect how good is the shooter's aiming. And it can used as a reference in game to see if a player can be that good.
Method 2: Record the best score and classify the players. A room can limit the player by the best score achieved as an option. Those who made 1000:10 in HM can be filtered out easily. And farmers, if they don't want to be classified as same group of hacker, they should limit their farming result. Anyway, those who are extremely good need not to play with normal player. We don't need to entitle them hacker, farmer or pros, they are suggested to play together.
I think this would convert those who keep complaining being kicked into the hack complainer. -

Some auto response are dummy, make no difference to me even it might please some others.
I think MoD have to register to review certain ticket in their system ---- I think the system is smart enough to group the report in a certain way that no duplicate report on same player in same game will be reviewed. I also think they would not review a replay if the reported player is already banned --- in summary, there must be a data base system to make their work efficiently. In other words, each MoD must input approved or rejected after doing a review into the system -- a banlist, statisitic, or auto reply can be generated from the data base, no need to be done by MoD.
And their old ban list is removed because of the privacy problem --- I guess if a kid say his IGN there, they will argue anyway, even though it is their fault. No one want to handle this kind of things, because the replay might get removed after processing.
I agree with the effective of x-trap. Their patch can really block the hacker, while lots of other game's anti-hack update normally create no significant effect. However, we have to realize how long could it last. Unfortunately, I saw hackers no more than 3 days after patches. This is the fact, and it indicates x-trap can not be the only tool to protect the game.
I think the antihack should have 4 levels:
1. prevention --- like x-trap or other similiar thing, verify the code is validate, or scan for illegal program running. If it works, player will gain best gameplay experience. But it is very hard. And none of the system is very successful till now.
2. in game remedy --- like the vote system or host kick. Action is done once hacker found. However, this does depends on the morality of players currently.
3. after game remedy -- ban system. This would not save your game from being ruined, because it is normally already get ruined. But it makes you feel better after you game being ruined if you know the hacker ruined your game is kicked. So it is very common player get rage and start a browser to do a report, and it is why there are lots of false report.
4. Other method -- like educating the community don't hack, create rules, discuss hack, show attitude.
2,3 are similar in detecting method. It does NOT look at the programs, it check the behavior of the players. Because the final judge is made by human being based on the behaviors, it is more reasonable to put effort to automate it. I have discussed several possible application of it.
z8 can only expect 1 to work, they have no control on it.
z8 should work on 2,3,4, while to create a rule to punish abuse of the system, and encourage player to kick hackers, and report real hacker is the solution to 2 and 3.
There are lots of improvement can be done in 2,3,4. But there is almost no official discussion about it. MoD and GM likes fancy things, we should expect diamond knife in some future days.
