An Army of One ribbon

What is the ratio of farmers to legit players who achieved the army of one ribbon would you guess?

Comments

  • Every 1st LT + that reached his rank without farming and without resetting

I guess atleast the 65/70% of legit players.
  • I have enough legit kills to have gotten the ribbon without farming.

Still, I think that Crossfire's hardcore farmers like myself should get a special farming ribbon, green with a little John Deere tractor on it.

    :)
  • It depends on what you mean by farmer... do you mean people who spend all their time farming because they suck, or people who just farm every once in a while?
A ton of people on the game farm every once in a while. I'd say at least 50% of the people with the badge farm sometimes.
Of the other 50%, I'd guess that about 10% are people who farm all the time because they have no lives and they suck at the game.
The remaining 40% are people who have never farmed a day in their lives.

Instead of a ribbon, you could always get a life... just a suggestion :)

There is no ribbon hand out for getting a life, what good is an achievement if its not recognized?

1 legit out of every 10 players. That's a rough ratio but it's not too far from the truth.. I'd even go a step further and say that it's actually worse.

Who's gonna actually try in a game that you will get kicked for trying too hard?

    Sigh...

Most of the hardcore farmers do not suck and simply farm because they enjoy doing it. It is similar to how people scrim or play pubs because they enjoy doing so. Personally, I enjoy doing all three of these activities in Crossfire. It would be nice if more people respected others' choice of activity within the game as long as it's within the rules...

Thats how bad I think it is because to achieve it legit without ever farming, you would need to play mainly TD. You would basically never achieve it playing Hero, Mutation etc because kills dont count. Also playing S&D and elimination only would take over 2 years to do.

I respect your choices, but I still can't help laughing at people who sit down for hours straight headshotting a guy who doesn't move or fight back. If that's what you wanna do, then go ahead and do it. I won't try to stop you, but in my eyes, a person who reaches their rank legitimately is always better than someone who reaches it by farming.

I actually didn't start farming until I made it to LT. Colonel.

That is also really about as high as you can make it in Crossfire without farming. After that the ranks require so much XP that advancing would take many months if not years of standard game play.

Anyway, I find it relaxing to farm when I cannot or do not really want to play in "real" games. I generally do it either when I am stuck at work or just on vent chatting with friends. I also spent a lot of my normal in game time last month farming when most public rooms were infested with one shot hackers. Pretty much all I could do last month without being frustrated was farming and scrims.
