It's easy to find hack codes, why is it hard to stop them?

Just out of curiosity I'd like to know why it takes so long to address particular hacks. For example the one shot hack has been going on for *weeks* now and even though I don't hack I'm positive it's fairly easy to utilize this hack. (how else can we explain the many, many players who use it). Also most of the sites who promote these hacks are'nt discreet about it, I see them advertise where to find them during matches and in the lobby on a daily basis.

It seems like X-trap should easily be able to dedicate a person to investigate which hacks are being used and find out how they are being utilized in the game. I find it hard to believe that the guys who create these hacks are more technically informed about the Crossfire programming than the developers and X-trap.

I've been playing this game daily for almost 2 years and during that time I have yet to see any significant improvement in the way the company deals with hacks and game exploits. I'm not saying that they have'nt tried to eliminate the hacking problem, but what they've attempted so far has not been succesful. I would think that a game that's been around this long should have more efficient methods for weeding out issues.

  • Finding the hack code is one thing, blocking it is another. The thing you have to understand is that if you can code it, it can be hacked. Plus, obtaining the sources isn't always that easy and breaking down their code in order to prevent it.

Its alot deeper than just adding a simple line to a script to shut down a hack so easily. Even the high end games that you pay for have problems preventing hackers from modifying their code.

The recent patch issues didn't help the situation either.
  • Don't forget that the game has changed hands from Suba to Z8games so it knocks back the time of how well-developed CF is for a while. There's alot of things going on and really we can't do anything, not even z8games can do anything.. We're all at the mercy of X-Trap if we still want to play this game.

The first part of this makes no sense. Neither Suba or Z8Games develops Cross Fire. Or codes the anti-hack programs we use.

Not to mention that this other company keeps coming up, years after we've moved on. And by moved on, I mean the exact same team working on CF in those days continue to work at Z8Games.

Hackers will always find new places to put hacks up, they will always code new hacks. If it is so easy for you to find hacks, then you could help the process by providing that information in a support ticket.

Remember, don't download or "test" hacks because you could be banned for it. But if you think you have important information about hacking, the forums are not the place to take them. http://support.z8games.com is.

    pwned hehehe
    sry had to do it
  • To dig a hole is much easier than to fix it without have your house out of water. So if you want to prevent hacker code from running, it is hard. You should expect x-trap being bypassed two days after patch.

To know some hacker code is running without knowing how might be easier. And currently the replay review is an example.

I think z8 should have put effort in this aspect, because I have read something like proactive in this forum. And I think it is a more feasible way to prevent hacker in a long period of time.

Vote system is players' tool to protect their game play when hacker is not filtered out by x-trap, and by the proactive method. The last thing is ban system, the game is already ruined up, and player seek to protect the future game play only --- we know that create a new account is easy, so we can only wish this way.

But I want ask a question for CM and MoD, how many reasons can be listed for the failure of voting system?

Can the developer make a filter for the spamming of free hack code? We already have the language filter right? For spamming we don't need to show as ****, we only need to ban the account, because they are either running the hacking code that spams, or they are trying to ruin the game.

Make this ban permanent please, because there is no misjudgement for the case.
  • You can find many sources to run a hack these days.
  • It's funny. Microsoft makes billions of dollars a year, and has departments devoted entirely to patching current and future threats in the products they develop and sell. They can't keep up.

Yet some of you think a company with more limited resources can and should be able to fix a problem they legally cannot, and you want it naow.

    I am bemused.
  • Of course they can't keep up when every idiot runs Windows. Most infected Windows systems are like that because idiots run them.
  • obtaining the sources isn't always that easy and breaking down their code in order to prevent it.

I'm helping you guys with that, being BR, i can easly find a hack!

    this.

it is incredebly hard to patch a hack, and most of the time sucsefully patching a hack can have negative inpact in the game in term of fps/ping lag.
it is an incredebly hard job to patch hacks while creating a hack take a few hours at best when you already have most of the pointers ( and they do.)
  • At least X Trap is much better than the old antivirus i think that the name of that one it was "GameGuard" or something like that.
