PING problem,help me!!!
my ping used to be exactly 38(im in canada) when i play crossfire,and these days (for a week)it is sometime 55 sometime 500 sometime 1000,very unstable and i cannot play with such an unstable ping.im not opening emule or msn,and other programms like IE works quite well,the net problem only occurs in crossfire,so it is not network problem i think,and no virus through scan,so what should be the reason?pls help me thx~~~

Everytime Z8 patches something new, almost everyone's ping goes up to a certain extent. I haven't yet seem to grow mine a lot (17-30 within last and this year) so If you're sure it's not your problem, Be sure to check the CF servers. They tend to lag too.

If it was the servers everyone's ping would fluctuate at the same time. That's not the case here. Either someone is using ur internet or ur service provider is having issues. Keep in mind loading web pages on another computer will make ur ping fluctuate like that. It will go up while its loading then be fine after the page has loaded. -
One thing to check is if you run a free program like pingplotter and ping some of the servers you can see where the problem might be. I live in canada and mornings my ping is 70's, afternoon ping goes to 90-100's then night sometimes 135-215. I did the pings and the problem is with shaw cable and bigpipeinc which is part of shaw. pings are 25-40 until it hits shaw then they are crap after that. Just a thought for you. I complained to them and all they said was they don't see a problem and im not one of their customers, so still a work in progress i guess. Search the forums for ips if you are going to try this or let me know and i will dig what i have up. Good luck with this.

There is gotta be interference with your router either in your house. Like the microwave shuts my whole internet down -.-" Because it causes an interference.
What will be a good idea for you though is to Restart your modem. Restart your router. If its still not working Im guessing your going to need a new router.
The good news: I have gave you information.
The bad news: You might have to buy a new router.:rolleyes: -
