Russia
Hi, guys. I'm from Russia and English is not my native language. But I understand some words and I can little speak in English. Is there anybody interesting in Russia and Russian language? What do you know about Russia except "Moskva", "vodka", "matreshka", "balalayka" and "garmoshka"? If you want, I'll write to you some russian words (in english and russian characters). For example, "Hi, how do you do?"; in russian - "Privet, kak dela?" (Привет как дела?). Write to me words or phrases, which you want to know, and I'll translate it in Russian and write by english characters.

By the way, if you are not very good at english, how would you be able to get the complete and correct meaning of some longer, more complex sentences someone could ask you to translate?
Don't forget, I'll translate to my native language. Not poems or novels, but one-two words. Some interesting words which you don't discover in dictionaries. For me translate English to Russian is easier than - Russian to English. I want to practice and do exercises communicating with english speaking peoples. -
Why do you want it? What is it? What is it gives?
There used to be a ribbon given for obtaining 250 forum posts, but was removed due to an excess of people spamming. Ribbons are coveted for the ability to receive a permanent M4A1-Custom after having 20. -

Thank you. There is no ribbon for posts in russian forum of cross fire. Only upgrade rank every 100 posts. And rank gives nothing privileges. -

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich - by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
I dont ask you to interpret this book. I ask have you ever read it?
To begin...
Ivan Denisovich Shukhov has been sentenced to a camp in the Soviet gulag system, accused of becoming a spy after being captured by the Germans as a prisoner of war during World War II. He is innocent but is nonetheless punished by the government for being a spy. The final paragraph suggests that Shukhov serves ten years. -

I read this book. The novel is interesting. This is a history of my country. And i advise you to read "The Kolyma Tales" by Varlam Shalamov if you take an interest in that days. Have you ever read it? I like this book more than "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich". -

I shall certainly read your choice sir.
For English I advise you to read George Orwell's "Keep the Aspidistra Flying."
Also could you give me some of his poetic work in English? -

Тут кстати бурги не палят русский мат, йеа
Why are we talking only about literature? Lets talk about our culture. I mean probably you think about bears on bicycles on the streets or people with bottle of vodka in the hand and a ear-hat (ushanka, lol)?Я уже в курсе. Я здесь два года ...

Well ... Our culture ... Hm, I'm not as much involved since I lived half my life in U.S.
Although, I was in Russian Army ... It's ... Just something different. Not like the french army ... Not like the NATO, it's ... Well, Russian?...
Also. Russian technology > NATO technology. For you people, when something breaks, you need to send engineers to repair it. We, Russians, simply need to hit it hard and it will work again.
P.S.: Above statement is especially true about military vehicles. -

You forgot a little thing. Everyone who lives in Russia must play accordion (garmoshka) or balalaika.
