im buying a new computer and it has this processor with the ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB video card as the title says i was wondering if this is a good processor and i dont wanna here any comments on i should build a computer imma do that later in life kthxbye

While AMD does not have a reputation for making excellent processors, but what you've got there is great. The processor is a six-core @ 3.0 GHz which is absolutely great and your graphics card is incredible. I don't know too much about AMD as I prefer Intel but from the looks of it, you'll see excellent performance with that machine. It's hard to tell exactly what FPS you'll get as I'm not sure how much RAM it has, but assuming at least 4GB you'll easily 200+ FPS.

Anyways. Good processor. Quad core will give you close to the same performance. As for ram go with 4 GB's. Any more then that is just unnecessary.
My Quad Core was stock 3.4 OCed to 3.8 can hit 4.0 on Air. No water cooling.
Save a chunk of money too.
