What does 'Status' mean while playing?

Does it mean connection or ping or something?
Since I don't know about other people but my connection is HORRIBLE every single game.
It always seems I am instakilled constantly before I even see the person on my screen and I am constantly lagging.

Like I turn a corner, die, and after I die someone magically appears 2 feet in front of me. =/
I mean its kind of ruining the game for me and I was looking forward to this being my new favorite FPS shooter.

Since for CA Money=Skill
For Project Blackout Money=mostly skill but not as bad as CA but crosshairs and weapons are OP
And now for CF where money actually doesn't matter now connection=total fail. D;
