Do starting weapons count towards ribbon?

Say you need 15 weapons for a ribbon, does m16 and m600 count too? what about m16a2?

Read annoncements. The only weaponry wich doesn't counts are Knifes, HEs/Smokes/Flashes, M16 and M700. EVERY other weapon counts, meaning that M16A2 counts. To the one who said melee doesn't counts, you're wrong. My two permanent AXEs count.
