The slower your internet connection, the longer it takes to upload a video. Even large files (e.g., 1+ gigabytes) can be uploaded to YouTube in just a half hour as long as you have fast internet connection. So if you're upload times takes a really long time, you have slow internet connection (or you're downloading a large file).
