Game News

Hero Mode is here. And it wasn't without its speed bumps. Despite all our efforts and testing and planning. A small error during the updated caused a rollback of code that we are still paying for today.

Thankfully it wasn't all bad news. We had some killer patch events and we were able to give away some great ribbons. We even managed to get the major crash bugs fixed right away and we're even patching some of the minor problems today.

We continue to work with the developers to get rid of what are pesky bugs left over from Hero Mode. We can expect more fixes to other problems in future updates!

Now while we're here we should once again address the Ribbon issues that have since come up with the introduction of the latest 5 ribbons. First off, the total ribbons that are available right now are not the last ribbons we plan on releasing. Yes, there are some awesome prizes available right now for getting 20 ribbons. But don't worry. We will have more ribbons for you to achieve this goal. By the time we have 40-50 ribbons you'll be wondering why you complained so much when there was only 25. The M4A1-Custom Crystal can be yours soon enough!

A note about the Forum Post ribbon. Please do not panic because we removed this ribbon. It caused a negative impact on the community. Yes we could predict what would happen. But we also didn't predict this much response to ribbons. We want new people on the forums. But the spam at that point was too much.

We will find ways to bring that ribbon back in better state than it was before. Where the impact in the community can cause the growth in members and a growth in quality.

There is enough information on the boards to use the search button to see any additional responses. So no more needs to be said about this.

Lastly we will take this moment to discuss the hacking situation and say that we are well aware of the situation of hacking within the game. We continue to work with the developers and X-Trap to find the best solutions to the problem. Including tracking the hacks, getting them blocked, improving the auto detect system and issuing bans (yes that includes IP bans).

We do not tell you when X-Trap updates. It happens automatically and we don't need to be giving the people who code hacks any further advantages. X-Trap has updated numerous times since Feb 17th. We are dealing with the hacking issues as best we can right now. Please try to work with us instead of against us. Report the hackers using our support form so we can continue to ban them. Help the cause rather than constantly working against it. We understand your frustration, but 55 threads in the Barracks that say all the same thing doesn't get us anywhere!


Rival Factions News

Rival Factions is very close to making its triumphant return. And we can say that yes, at the beginning of Season 2 of Rival Factions you will be given the opportunity to re-enlist with either BL or GR. Yes that means you can switch sides!

The reboot will begin in just a couple of weeks and there will be some changes to how things are done. The Leader Boards, and missions aren't changing. They will run on average once per month and there will be prizes for the winning team and top players! However the briefing/de-briefing stories will be removed.

They will instead be replaced by a single story for each side. This will set the tone for the mission and progress the story. Or in some cases be a completely separate story. Think of them like episodes from a TV show. This means it will be easier to update and follow along and you will quickly be able to see where the mission is set, who's winning at that moment and much more!

We hope you guys enjoy the new Rival Factions when they start. Look for the reboot story and the chance to re-enlist in RF coming very soon!


Competitive Updates

WOGL Season 2 is over! The Finals were an amazing match between [!]nstinct and Core Gaming. It was case live on WOGL tv and the matches still remain on their website. If you haven't watched these two teams duke it out then I won't spoil the surprise for you and instead tell you to watch them right now!

Congrats to the winners! You know who you are! We look forward to watching both teams play in Season 3. Look for new rules, better organization and in general a better WOGL experience coming up very soon! And yes, you will get a Ribbon if you play and compete in a the full season 3 of WOGL!

The ESL has started up their North American Division. They are looking for some competitive Ghost Mode players to get signed up for their cups. If you play Ghost Mode March is the month for you! Check out all the action in this thread. And we've got some additional news on our Competitive Page.


Community Happenings

We roll on with this Issue of Urban Warfare with a look at our newly grown community! If your new around here then you can get used to reading UW once or twice a month. And if you want to introduce yourself to the community why don't you say hello here.

We like to feature some fun threads in and around the community and this issue is no different. If you haven't spotted a MOD in game, then go look for them! And then come here to talk about it!

And lastly before we talk about all the events and promotions Z8Games is doing. Our very own Moderating team is holding a massive event coming soon called the Cross Fire Olympics. They are gathering feedback and are getting close to opening the signups, so make sure to get your feedback and thoughts in here.

And finally we can't go without an update on the fun stuff! Hopefully if you've come this far you'll be treated with some knowledge of all the cool things we're doing or plan on doing in Cross Fire!

Currently we are wrapping up our recent Cross Fire Film awards. We received an overwhelming number of votes. The live award ceremony will take place on these forums on March 9th! Good Luck to all!

March brings us another Ribbon and an Iron Man Marathon Challenge! Are you up to the task of playing 50 hours in March? If you do, you can earn yourself a ribbon that will never again be given out!
