We need hardware ban now,,,, Do it Z8,,,,, Only way to stop hackers
This is very ludicrous... you're saying for example that if I were to hack, they would toss my computer and monitor in the stony lonesome? O.o Everyone here knows the difference between hardware and software right? -

It means they save the MAC address of components in your computer, and if those try and log on, you'll be denied. You will only be denied from crossfire nowhere else. -
i also hate hackers, but if someone has this ban he can just format his PC and the ban is away
NOPE not that easy....
To circumvent a hardware ban, you will have to replace several hardware components:
Every machine has a serial ID that is hashed from the 4 main components that have identifiable hardware codes:
the CPU stepping ID (All are unique and are contained in the same STRAP address regardless Intel or AMD)
the NIC MAC address (All are unique and contained in the same IRQ resource address)
the Motherboard Revision number (Not unique, but added for additional granularity, located in the Shadow ROM CMOS)
the Hard Drive Manufacture date (Not unique, but added for additional granularity, located in the ROM chip)
WindowsXP uses a LUT method for hashing those 4 ID codes into something that is called a Hash Key. -
^^^^^^^^^ With that said.. If Z8 would get serious on hackers.. This would make you have to get a new computer to play on.. Or replace all the componenets... But I think they will never do it.... Because hackers bring money to the table.........Its time to start hardware ban Z8

It's against the terms of service that Z8Games put out. I remember a suggestion like this a while ago, and a specific member of the community copied and pasted a whole section in the old ToS on an older version of this version before stuff began to get updated.
It would be practical, but it's a bit of crossing the line. Hackers get banned, sure people can say "Once a hacker, always a hacker." but what's the truth? People make mistakes and recover from them. -
I have 3 friends that use to hack. It's against the terms of service that Z8Games put out. I remember a suggestion like this a while ago, and a specific member of the community copied and pasted a whole section in the old ToS on an older version of this version before stuff began to get updated.

Yea i agree. Ive had friends who were like "Hack Addicts" but when they realized what they were doing they stopped and now totally despise hacking. You can recover. -

How can a hardware ban be against a TOS ? When they state that you cheat your ban.... Im just letting everyone know that they can ban hackers if they wanted too.. If they started this, this game could recover.... They dont do something... This game is doomed........... -

There are hackers. There always will be. You destroy a group and another will take its place. Knowing that this is the case - a hardware ban is a complete waste of time, money, and resources. You have not solved the hacking problem - merely delayed it. The only use a hardware ban would be is to act as an intimidating factor to future groups of hackers. Ultimately, z8 games doesn't care about you or anyone else - they only want money. And when they waste time to permanently ban people that are potential Zp buyers it's not good for business. Case closed. -
the idea you give is quite good... doing something like the Windows Genuine Advantage blocking Serials... but the problem is this is a free game... u r breaking the rule of giving a free paid service... so, there we have the legal problem... the real solution is doing like a known RPG game... BLOCKING BR PUBLIC PINGS by cancelling all the IPs starting with (for example) 92.xx.***.xx.x even if they r dinamic, u r getting owned this noobs...

People make mistakes and recover from them.
Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen. If they know the punish is very limited, they will be back on the same way.
And just get rid of their right to play this game is not killing them, on the other hand, they learned that in their real life, something is much easier to be messed up than to be built up.
The only doubt about the feasibility is if it is against some strange privacy regulation? -

Lol I've been building computers for a long time and I hate to say it but you need to be more specific cause no such thing as a hardware ban. They dont even ban Ip's so they should start there. I have suggest weekly server maint. that would include slight changes to the files that the hacks depend on. The best first step is hack prevention, giving x-trap/game watcher more time to update their definitions. But if i've said it once, i've said it 100 times z8 could care less. -

Yes you can hardware ban, go back to computer school.....

Banning one of them ^ or all would do the job.......
p.s. I build computers too.... -

Some people are clueless to what a "hardware ban" is.
If anything, we need a ping cap server + hardware ban to create the greatest playing society and enviroment in the video game world.
