Is your graphics card an nVidia one?
If so, I got the answear.
Open up the nVidia Control Panel. If you got Windows 7, you get there by...
Start > Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > nVidia Control Panel
When you're in the nVidia Control Panel...
Find "Adjust Desktop Size and Resolution". Click it, then in that section, click "Use NVIDIA scaling'.
Done.

Unfortunately still a no-go for me, still not fullscreen. I have the game set to 1440x900, and my native windows resolution is 1680x1050. Using an ATi card with the proper plugs, and I enabled scaling.
