Ribbon Suggestion
Rather than set a direct number for people to reach, award a ribbon to the top 100(or 50 or 40 or w/e) posters. If you want to create a ribbon based on post count alone, I doubt it'll get any better than this.
Due to there not being an exact number of posts to reach, people will be less inclined/less motivated to grind posts in order to reach the number. Even better, have the ribbon description be something like "Is a contributing member of the forum community." While still true, instead of making it look like grinding to a specific post count is a valid option, it promotes being activwe and USEFUL on the forums.

i fully agree. -
then there would be even more spam (in foreign languages) for people trying to reach top 40 or 50.
the real problem is people trying to rush to get ribbons for the m4cc. maybe they should of made it at 30 ribbons or something.... I bet if there was no m4cc not that many people would care about the ribbon. -

I think less descriptive ribbons would work also.
Have a couple of ribbons where it doesn't say the requirements and individuals have to figure it out them self. Yes, this might create some spam because others are asking how to achieve it but it would be a new perspective to the ribbons. -

good luck reaching top 40. -
good luck reaching top 40.
If its going to be "Top 100" might as well say 1k posts again.
at 100 its around 1600, 40th is currently at 2,881
Back at the same problem of individuals arguing its to hard to achieve and want it to be given to them like candy. -

it was easy because the requirement was 250 posts. -

250 is a lot easier. I was just making a reference to the point if its going to be in the top "***" might as well go back to the original 1k posts bc its almost the same amount of impossible. well for most people patience :P -

sounds k i guess
and btw, the ribbon was just a stress test on the mod's.
it proved that there is not enough manpower to kill infinite spammers so they took on a new mod.
next test wil be in 2 weeks so get your flamethrowers ready -

because the amount will never be 1000 to be the top XX. The top posters will keep posting and people who spam will get banned before even reaching to the top 200s.
