CF players.
Stolen from d1ablo's post on tek-9 and adapted to CF, pretty interesting.
1) Newbie: first starts playing an FPS game competitively, sucks horribly, gets made fun of A LOT. Used to last for quite a while, now it lasts for about 2 days.
2) Normal Competitive Player: decent player, plays matches/mixes every night from 1-5 times and enjoys playing the game itself.
3) Fork in the Road:
A) "Pro Player": having competed in at least 1 season or tournament of any kind this player is now a pro, here is where they begin talking down to everyone else. It doesn't matter if they won anything, they are pro and they will talk **** unprovoked to anyone and everyone who is not supremely superior to them. This phase seems to last for quite a while, usually spanning the rest of their career within that cod game before they evolve one more time...
Above Average Player: Having competed in the game in at least 1 season or tournament of any kind this player has improved quite a lot over the normal player but he still knows he's not the best and doesn't talk **** unless provoked. This phase lasts quite a while but this player will evolve again but that depends on their actual improvement through time invested.
C) Game Haters: People who continue to play CF despite the fact that they hate the game.
4) Great Player: This player is a seasoned veteran who knows all of the good peek spots and so on but will talk **** when provoked although they have the experience to back it up. Very few will exceed this state so this phase is another long lasting state.
5) Actual Pro Player: These players invest a ton of time learning their craft but they do it efficiently, they don't talk **** unless severely provoked because they represent actual professional names. This phase will continue until said player quits the game.
6) Admins and Casual Players: Sucks at the game, but enjoys the community, cares enough to become an admin in some tournaments, has care-free mixes and enjoys the usual banter thrown around.
i thought it applies to CF as well
except there are no actual pro players but vVv as they are the only one actually representing a professional organisation.
