In terms of overall versatility, go for the RPK-Gold because its usable in all modes.
For Mutation or Hero mode, the Gatling Gun is only good when you're with other players. That way your chances of survival is higher than being by yourself.

Go for the HERO crates because even if you miss out on the Golden Gatling Gun, you still have a shot for a normal Gatling Gun. It's also limited time so you better get the GGG while it lasts. You can get the RPK-Gold crates anytime.

RPK Gold = Very many bullets, pretty fast reload, good damage, ok accuracy.
Gatling Gun Gold = Extremely many bullets, Super Slow reload, lower than average damage, horrible accuracy.

^ I'd take the RPK Gold.
