Hack Tool Detected - What the hell?

I start up Crossfire, go to mutant mode excavation on my first game, and there is a hacker.O_O. Their score is in the hundreds, but I cant do anything about it so the game just continues. I realize that I am obviously going to report the hacker after I get the replay when the game is over. BUT, I am cut out of the game by this stupid error message: "Hack Tool Detected(1)(4.0)." I am thinking, is this the definition of irony? I receive a hack tool error and get dropped form the game, while the hacker gets away free. I am beginning to think that the whole crossfire team just up and left this game a long time ago. They are probably off working on a newer/better game, while this one just gets abandoned. It really isn't even worth playing anymore.
