Knives only matches
I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.
I'm sorry for being slightly roused up, but I'm an avid knife player. Almost all of my kills come from using a knife, and there used to be such a thing as a "knife only match". However, it's been gradually getting worse and for months it's now been "Come get your face bashed in by a shovel and an axe in your face from 40 feet away" matches. I've been thinking about it for a very long time and I don't like it. It's not fair for people who simply want to play against others with knives. What makes things especially worse is that shovels still have small bugs that haven't been ironed out, and can sometimes hit from extremely lengthy distances, have a second delay and then die without a sound. (No, it is not my internet connection or my computer. 6 GB ram, 1.4 TB hard drive as well as 22MB/s wired FiOS connection).
There's my complaint section of the thread, now I suppose I need to add my suggestions to fixing it.
Firstly, the bugs with shovels happen rarely, as it happens with axes too (not so much recently) so they aren't too much to deal with. My one, simple suggestion would be to change the name of the matches to "Melee only" instead of knives, because in a 8x8 game there's usually only 2 or 3 knives now.
A better suggestion, which may be more difficult but would be much more appreciated (as I'm sure by anyone else who sees things like I do) are separate matches. Knives only as one match type, and melee only as another. This way, if there are people with axes or shovels, they can play with each other, as well as some knife players who may want to join them, and if they want to play knives only, they can too. As well as keeping the ZP combat users happy, this would also keep the players happy who enjoy using only a knife. I hope you seriously consider this, as myself and a few close friends, as well as former clan mates have all been deeply peeved by this. I've taken many long breaks because of it, and I just want to enjoy playing like I used to, but I can't anymore.

I %100 agree with you but to be honest im pretty sure they will never consider this idea becasue one, alot of people that mainly do knife only matches use a shovel/axe.There are even clans like LT and unDefined that only use ZP in knife only including armour. And also I have got an axe before and i only did it because there were too many other people with it and if they took them out of knife only then for people like me, there would be absolutly no reason to buy an axe or shovel. I play GM alot too but i do very well with my knife and i dont see a reason to waste money on something that i dont need to use and can do almost as well.
But yeah like i said this would be nice if they did it.
Oh and if u reply saying yeah but they can do ZP knife only. Yeah but like i said people like me like to knife over axe and shovel but only got the axe because of other people using it. So alot of people would just stop buying the ZP melee wepeons and do knife only mode because the majority of ZP buyers buy ZP to have an advantage over other players to raise their k/d. And its not as much fun if your not very good at the game. -
I've been killed from long distance by all melee weapons except the Katana. There's clearly a bug or a hack. I have a replay with a game when I've been killed while I was planting the bomb. I saw the guy when attacked, but I said that he will miss, I was so wrong.

I'm happy with all of the support and feedback that this is getting, but I suppose you guys are right. It seems disappointing though that they most likely wouldn't consider it, kinda discouraging for it. As for T4ngo, I agree; I can also keep up with a knife and my K/D for each match is usually in the 1.5 - 3 range, only excuses for deaths being unfair kills from a mile away or facing an opposite direction.
However, my idea is similar to milf181, you should be able to customize your matches more and make them how you actually want to play them. As they are now, you can barely choose a game-type because they're so set in stone, it's almost depressing lol. -

Having less range, power and a smaller hitbox/hit range isn't fair for you? Neither is hitting on the fat drunk chick at the party that has a complete absence of self worth, but you do it anyways because you have no standards and you want to get your peter sucked. I had no idea what the previous line had to do with anything until after I typed it. Axe and shovel scrubs spam lolonehits for kdr purposes also known as epeen to make up for their lack of actual skill. Yes, there are some players that are good at knife and axe, but it's pointless to seperate them from the scrubs because they are so few and far apart. All of these facts have been well known, documented, and recognized without exception by the serious knife community for a very long time; we are now beating a dead horse in humorous efforts to try to make it die again.It's not fair.
"Melee only" mode was an inside joke I made months ago about knife mode that has recently started to explode in popularity among the masses. It's not going to happen because the programmers don't care about knife mode unless they can make money off of it.change the name of the matches to "Melee only"

I'd like to give a shoutout to all the zp bads I've ever got to switch to knife for 1 or more rounds in a room then switched back to their god weapon after getting 1 or less kdr.the majority of ZP buyers buy ZP to have an advantage over other players. Yeah technically all I play is knives, sometimes I do TDM or FFA but I like knives more than anything, well.. I used to. I am not letting this thread die though, I want this to happen and I want more attention on it, no matter how unlikely it is that THE DEVELOPERS WILL ACQUIRE ANY COMMON SENSE.

They changed it so that the knife will one shot kill some one with a helmet most of the time or 3/4 times anyways. And lmfao do you only play this game to do knife only?
And it really sucks that they did that. It eliminated one of the greatest things about having head armor. -
