Competitive Game Options
Picture:

This is something the game lacks generally in terms of competitive play, there's nothing to really set the standard or define them. My suggestion is to help those who like setting up specific rulesets to the game without someone coming in and ruining it. Much like the Knife/Pistol/Sniper only options.
How would it work?
Much like picking snipers only in options, you would select the rule set from the same drop down menu. Thus locking in what can and cannot be used. It would function similarly as well.
Why do we need this? What benefit could it possibly bring?
Well, it would allow the competitive people to play without having to worry about items or gear being used in the middle of play, nor ruined by those who wish to go against such rules. Allowing alot more smoother gameplay, as even those who 'forget' about such gear will not have as much worries since the stuff restricted simply won't be active much like the other modes.
Plus, it brings about another style of play for players to tinker around with and enjoy if they prefer such rule sets.
Why only these rules? I wanna make it my own!
Because these are generally rules that work and have been tested such by leagues and such on numerous occasions, unlike those who would create custom games only to benefit themselves as a host. These sets are generally quite fair and typically allows just about anyone to still participate in them.
Where could these rules be used in?
Just about any game mode can use the Hardcore mode only, however the WOGL set would probably be used in S&D match sets the most, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be used in other game modes as well. Heck, even GM. Things like Mutation will probably be unaffected and unavailable for such rulesets though.
You mentioned Hardcore, what is that?
A weapon set dating back to the Suba age or the core set when Z8 first entered. Typically consisting of very few weapons, but the most common. Typically weapons would be the m4, ak, dragunov, famas and that sort without these huge additions. You wouldn't find a set of desperados or winchester scope in this set for example. Basically leaving what people could call 'the skill weapons' from back in the day. No fancy extras. This includes gear, not just weapons.
What happens if I forget to take off my weapon/gear for the ruleset?
They will simply be inactive and/or grayed out in your bag like most mode restricted game types. Which would have no effect on you actually having to un-equip said item or weapon in future uses. (Unless of course you find your bags have no usable items to fight effectively with.) Which means after the game you can enter another normal game easily without having to constantly go to your storage.
It doesn't seem like there's many options right now...
As Crossfire grows, chances are more leagues and other additions will come that will probably expand these options. Its not an easy task to just slap on there.
Questions or comments are welcome.

But yeah, it would be nice if you could actually make the settings of your room.
Add a ping cap to your room and voila, we got a perfect suggestion.
What do you mean elitist?
Saidin already noted ping cap is beyond our capabilities currently, they are working on alternatives.L0LSmilyFace wrote: »Well first, awesome idea.
Second, what UI mod is that?
Thanks. ^..^;; I'm pretty sure it could be expanded on.
As for the UI, its a custom one I'm making. Currently not released because its not entirely finished yet.Almost done so it should be soon. I couldn't find a true RD theme so I thought I'd be the first. -
