AK-74 Spread: A Project
Hello, I'm Karahaut. I'm not new to Crossfire (this is maybe my 3rd account; have been playing since the Open Beta on SubaGames) however I am new to the ways of the Kalashnikov. I just recently decided to pick it up and begin using it, but because this is a newer account I had to stay with it's "inferior" cousin, the AK-74. I have tried the AK-47 in games such as Elimination, and it's very easy to notice that it rarely spreads and is always on target granted you can control the recoil.
But that's not what I am trying to get at. The AK-74, oddly, doesn't have the same amount of spread. In fact, it SWAYS to the side a bit and tends to throw your recoil off balance. Even if you control it. However, I may have found a technique that could prove to be fundamental in taming the wild spread of this weapon. I'd like it if you, the Crossfire community, could help me test it out and confirm my experiment:
"Am I crazy, or does strafing while shooting maybe it literally have no spread?"
I noticed, while in a game of Ship, strafing to the left or right while shooting (and pulling down a bit; the same way with the AK-47) has made the spread of the weapon and accuracy feel incredible. Maybe this technique is already known, or even widely used amongst ALL weapons, but I hope that some of you who are reading this will take part.
Take the time to buy (if you don't already have it) the AK-74 and try it out yourself. Short, medium, and long range. It's probably not the greatest at long range, but you will still notice it was compared to standing still/crouching while shooting.
Please, post your responses and here and tell me what you think. Criticism on this subject is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Karahaut
