I got it, its an alright mouse
I had problems with it with windows 7 due to setpoint compatability or sumit.
Works great with my vista, the weights are a boost to the user, the buttons are alright.
Its a good mouse to have.
Change the polling rate, otherwise you will have problems in CF. -
I got a mouse for free from the laptop bag I bought =D
And having average 2 kdr ¬¬
for the most part I use the gaming mouse for comfort rather than the hardcore performance...
but I think the beauty of a gaming mouse comes out when sniping... yeah for rushing with an AK, you certainly do not need a gaming mouse... but when sniping the ability to set sensitivity low for precision and still be able to quickly swipe the mouse if need be is amazing... additionally the mouse has no auto-correction to straight lines and you REALLY see that when you first switch from regular mouse to a gaming mouse...
you don't really NEED it... but it's comfy and sniping is much easier with it I think... -
wait, you bought a gaming mouse without posting a forum topic and your asking if this mouse is good in CF?
Well, all mice are awesome for fps games, as long as it doesn't lag and have a refresh rate of 8ms (125 Hz). You should lower the refresh rate since CF could aim very twitchy at 1000 Hz (1ms) -
logitech mx518 ftw!
I never installed the CD Anybody think i should?
depends what u want from ur mouse. Mx518 has memory for 5 quick change DPI's and without drivers just 3 which are 1600 ? 800 ? and 400 cant actually remember are those correct dpi's.
Mx518 compared to G500.
G500 Is more accurated, higher DPI chance and also weights to adjust mouse weight its a "pro mouse"
Mx518 is "oldish" capable for 1800dpi max ? but I rather use Mx518 its not accurated as G5 but cause its optical it doesnt flip badly as G5 (lazer sensor ) if there happens to be hair or something else under mouse.

^this. I dropped 3.0 kdr's with a 7 year old Logitech mx700 till I switched to a Razer Lachesis. Not seeing much of a difference, even though now it's 4000 dpi instead of 800. -

Yeah, I just got the Logitech G500 yesterday.

Is it a decent mouse for a FPS game like CF? Does anybody have it?
I have it, I also gave my other one away in a competition I had. The gaming mouse is very decent in-game, but you have to configure the correct settings to play smoothly; If your use to a low mouse, then this one will take time to get use to. -
the G500 is a nice mouse... has a weird shape but still pretty nice!
However, for FPS games, there is only one undefeated heavyweight champ! The Razer Deathadder!
QFT.
None can beat the deathadder.
I wonder why other brands don't adapt the shape of the clicks...
