n it's no way for them.. lolz.z.
those people spend money for ZP.. they paid too..
Your dumb as hell.
The hacker population is minimal compared to the rest of the legit players that spend ZP.
IP bans would be awsome and show strict control and scare off any future hackers. -
hardware ban as it ban their PCs? That is rather stupid and hard to do because z8games does not have the right obtain data about the PC whether if it's the Operating Systems serial, the IP address, or serial numbers of the computer hardware. Doing so, it would be illegal, it's the equivilant of z8 gaining information without your consent about what is on your PC. And they can always change thing on heir PCs. Plus, if they are on a laptop, playing at a library, yeah IP ban an entire library/school :P

But Windows does have the right to read and send the serial number?
No? They do anyway...
hardware ID is different than serial number...
Anyway hardware ban is good but there are ways to change your hardware ID so ya this is useless as banning IP's it will only take 5 more minutes of there time
This will stop the nub public hackurs a little bite but the VIP hackurs not! -

It depends on what you agreed to when you approved the installation. In other words by accepting the terms of the end user agreement you agreed to what ever terms existed. If you didn't agree you wouldn't be allowed to play so it wouldn't be issue.what you think about global hardware ban for hackers?
Depends on what hardware identification you are speaking of. MAC/IP/Windows registration key can all be changed in less then a minute so it's no use to depend on those. So what form of hardware id is reliable across all versions of windows and works all the available hardware combination and does this without banning legitimate players? Keep in mind you have to consider new versions of windows and the fact that new hardware is being released everyday? So suddenly your simple idea has turned into a full time job.
Although the general idea is a good one in reality there is no way to implement it effectively. -
an ip ban is nothing, i mean im not a wizz with a comouter what so ever but i can download a piece of software that can change ure ip when eva you want. ive said it before and ill say it again MAC bans are the way forward to stoping hacker once that MAC ban is in place there is no way that computer can ever be used to play crossfire again because you cant change a MAC adress its specific to that machine. they cant play until they get a new machine and i mean whos gon na get a new machine jus to hack on crossfireRawrJafrikan wrote: »Your dumb as hell.

Most routers offer the option to change/clone a MAC address and there is a number of programs available for windows that can change a MAC address so it's not reliable at all. -

"Strict Control"?
I have around 6 unresolved tickets of hacker reports (in which 1 or more obvious hackers). when I recieved feedback only for one - thing is, I submitted that about a year ago and there was no hack, but glitchers.
They need to check the replays. 'cos if you don't ban, people won't get scared off at all. And this is the reason why I personally noticed a decrease in people who hack whenever I join a match. (and i don't accuse people of hack just cos I get killed, mind you)
If they already took action against them (I haven't checked) then they at least need to inform players about their own reports, because to me it seems like they're doing nothing about hacks when I don't get any feedback or a sign the report has been taken care of.
A bit off topic, just adding my own two cents here.
About the IP bans:
I'm not an expert in IP adresses and stuff... there's different IP addresses for your LAN network, your router and whatever there is... but, also there's a permanent identification of a computer/machine that might allow you to permanently ban a user. However ,you could also evade this by just buying a new one (as already mentioned).
If someone buys ZP and then gets caught hacking... well then that hardly can be crossfire's fault. The user violated against the TOS if he hacks, so he's gonna get what he deserves. -
IP ban might cause problem. Most ISP uses ip pool and the residential service would not get a fixed ip. That means, today you use this ip, tomorrow you might have a different one.
Most freeware to change ip in a different way. They have proxy server to handle the request, and game server think the proxy is doing request, instead of certain user. But there will be more hops between the client and server, so you can wish ping get up. It is pretty safe to ban these IPs. -
Most routers offer the option to change/clone a MAC address and there is a number of programs available for windows that can change a MAC address so it's not reliable at all.
Maybe z8games can add a small piece of code to collect the computer serial number during installation, or just network interface MAC when login. The first one might be illegal in law. So I am not sure if the second one is legal.
Even though they can clone a MAC, the cost for being banned is high. They need to change hardware to play it again.
I have another idea which is sure to be legal. In the installation process, connect to the database to issue an magic number. It is like a serial number and might be associate with some information, like , the number will be bond with your account when you create an account. Once hacker detected, the magic number (or the master magic number) is no more in use.
The idea is basically once an magic number is found hacking, the account will be banned, and the number will no longer working.
So if the game pub can provide player hacks, they should prepare to reinstall the game constantly, which is, even not hard, will be time consuming to raise their cost. So we prevent hub provide hacks in pub. And they probably says please don't install extra softwares.
But all the problem is if the hacker can be detected.
