Has anyone else experienced this with blood tests
I went for a blood test on Monday, the nurse was a cow, she put it in the 1st time nothing came out, so she tries again and I get this horrible electric shock feeling, she kept poking and prodding for my vein despite numerous times of telling her to stop, she carried on till I was out cold then decides to stop.
So I go back again on Wednesday same thing happens again. And now when ever I straighten my arm I get the electric shock feeling.
I will be going to the hospital to have them taken from my feet or something on Monday (god help me)
But just out of curiosity as anyone else had this electric shock feeling during or after having them done?

But, I'm pretty sure that's not suppose to happen, I've seen my dad get a blood test and it worked the first time without any "shocks".
She probably didn't clean the needle either

Yea, I've had it. Same thing for me - when the nurse was wiggling the needle around trying to find the vein - eventually I experienced the "shock" from my hand up to my elbow. Never knew what it was but I guessed that she could have hit a nerve while trying to find the vein.

I had to get blood drawn when they we're trying to figure out the cause of my insomnia - I almost threw up, so I feel bad for you! >.< But no I think its a pretty normal feeling. She may have been to stupid to find a vein but I don't think she did any damage to ya don't worry about it. ^^

Umm... Insomnia? Disorder of sleep? :S
I haven't sleep good for a long time. It all started I think 1 year ago in August. :S
I can sleep, but I usually wake up always at 03:00 mornin'! :S
Do I have insomnia? Can it effect my life? Please answer. I'm scared. :S -
lol never happened to me... i never had problems with removing blood, i always stared at the nurse that was removing the blood, she was like look away now, and i was like, no i wanna see this :P although i once had an idiot that pocked me 5 times before he hit the vein --'

i dont think that can be considered insomnia but not sure, i usually wake up around 3/4 am to, but i fall asleep n like 10 minutes after.... if you have insomnia it can affect you're judgment and temper -
Ikr.Yea I don't think it results in permanent damage or anything, it's just disconcerting when it happens.
For me, it goes like this:
1st poke, common practice medical procedure.
2nd poke, accidents happen, veins can be hard to find.
3rd poke, wdf are you doing?
4th poke, assault. I am required to shove my fist into his face, or request for another nurse, or both. -

Alot of people go in and out of having insomnia, Acute Insomnia I think is what its called. Its periods in there life when they just can't seem to sleep good, they can last for up to a month. I have Chronic Insomnia which is longer lasting. Basically the doctor told me Chronic insomnia is caused by 3 things - ADHD, Some weird disease that has something to do with your neck (I don't really remember what she said about it but I know thats what she had to draw blood for), or Chronic Depression. I had to go to the doctors because when I was about 13 I was sleeping so little I got very sick and started freaking out during my classes until my teacher called my parents and made them take me - Its nothing really so bad. Just makes you feel like crap, sometimes hallucinate after you've gotten about 10-15hrs of sleep in a week xD -

It happened when I was getting my wisdom teeth out. They couldn't find a spot for the IV - they tried my right upper arm, my right hand, my right wrist, my left upper arm, my left hand, and my left wrist. Then they finally got it in my right upper arm.
I was like, seriously people!!! You're lucky I'm getting drugged or else we would have had words!!! -
I still have mine thankfully.Hahaha!

My Shady dentist kept offering to have them removed even though it wasn't necessary.... -

But just out of curiosity as anyone else had this electric shock feeling during or after having them done?Yes, I have. It happens when you have some half-wit standing next to your hospital bed, that can't tell the difference between a vein and a freakin' nerve. I actually decked the orderly that stuck the needle in my arm the wrong way. He was warned that would happen if he would mess up with me. Since I have nosocomephobia, I'm on edge when I'm in a hospital. So there is no room for error with me, for I will freak out and become violent. The guy left with a bloody nose, and the head nurse took over. Luckily, she knew what she was doing, so she managed to find my vein in one try.

I was in a doctors surgery I used to be fcking terrified of needles until they did this, I'm not sure they can get any worse than what they put me through. And because I flinched she goes "I'm not wrestling with you" I was like "Erm fc off you just rammed a needle into my nerve 3 times till I passed out" stupid cow. God. I didn't say it but I was thinking it, and if I wasn't passed out over the floor she would have gotten a smack too.
