Are they .rez files? I always thought they were rendered with a graphics library. I mean, the circle cursor for example when you fire the circle get's bigger but the dot in the center stays constant. So it's not as if an image is being made larger.

Changing mark kills is illegal. Make Cross-hairs is hack. Unless you're a pro editing .rez files. Not everyone change those files, people just change the IU.

Are you trying to be sarcastic about how strict the word censor is because you wanted to swear on an issue like this? Really is this actually happening?

The game can detect .rez file modifications. And yes, that can result in you being banned.

Well... Technically, you could just have a program that uses a crosshair on the Windows Desktop that overlays all programs and applications.

Would THAT be a violation of Crossfire's rules?

Yes it would! >_< An advantage only for a single player and not anyone else is a violation! XD

It would be no different than putting a dot in the middle of your screen with a marker in all honesty.

Only some files that you have in the rez files can be modified " given you know how to do it and without messing all around " the cross hair file is not in the rez file , it`s only some icons to guide you the the one you will chose , modifying them will show you the one you put while you make your choice and in game you will have the original ( default) one.
But in any case YOU DON`T HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO ANY CHANGE .It`s against the LAW .
Like hacking is not only against the rules but against the LAW and if CF want to take LEGAL action against a cheater ( hacker for us ) Z8 may use the law against that person , but the money z8 will have expend to go through this does not worth it .

some are not detectable .
Example : I want to see a girl striping when I kill in a streak . I find 6 pics of a girl striping and re-size them to the kill marks size , then rename and save them on the same pic format used by the Rez file , then replace them .So what change will be detected ? You are the only one who will see those kill marks unless you post an SS of it here.
But in any case , as soon as the game is patched , all will return to default .
