cf and computer freeze during matches

hi, whenever im in a match, cf freezes and i can not even open the task manager. i have to restart my computer. it happens whenever i or someone near me is shooting and someone is too close to my screen, or when i die sometimes near a wall, and the back of the camera is towards the wall so my body is up closer. i play on the lowest settings because i never bothered to see how high i can play without lag, and i have gamma at 100 due to my monitor being old and dark. MY SPECS: windows xp pro/home 32 bit (i get an option to choose either pro or home on startup and we never used home, always pro), 2.66ghz processor, 256mb pci ati radeon 9250 graphics card, 1 gb of ram. crossfire NEVER gave me ANY problems when i had my old 64mb geforce mx400 pci graphics card except a little lag, which is worse than the graphics card i have now. i have no lag problems from current graphics card and my ping on all matches i have played so far is around 80. i have downloaded and installed the ati radeon 9250 series catalyst 6.11 display driver for windows xp straight from the amd website. please if you have any idea how to fix this please tell me. i LOVE crossfire and once i get my account to staff seargent i plan on buying zp for guns and stuff.

Ok so your computer is just freezing? You are not getting any errors what so ever? Make sure you update all your drivers on your pc. I take it your pc is a little aged as well so it wouldn't hurt to open your case up and use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris out of your pc, paying special attention to your fans and heatsinks.
Do this and then post back on here.

this is cfaddict3, i forgot my password and i no longer use that account (made a new account, this one, because im trying to find the right weapon). anyways.. yes my computer is old, and i got any dust i could see out of it (there was quite a bit). i have the latest catalyst ati graphics drivers. i still freeze. same problem...

Its the 9250 Video card. I have the same one and it crashes to. There is some sort of compatibility problem with these chip sets and CF. I haven't found the cause of the crash but still looking.
