I think it's actually called AWP. Stands for All Weather Purpose or something like that... Most comonly used in winter times since it's specially designed to not freeze up..

So I suppose the formal way to say it is A.W.M.

Well Awm stands 4 artic warfare magnum so prettu much the same anyway.

Not sure where these abbriveration definitions are coming from.

AW is Arctic Warfare and nothing else.

P for Police, as in CS.
M for Magnum, as in CF.

Technically its A.W.M since it stands for something and isnt an actual word.

AW stands for Arctic Warfare

AWP is using used by police forces hence why the P stands for Police and the AWM is used in arctic warfare (obviously) for super long range and is built so the weapon doesnt jam in the freezing temperatures

The AWP is normally chambered for 7.62 mm NATO/.308 Winchester or .243 Winchester ammunition.

AWM is the only badass gun.

Is it me, or does the L96A1, AWP, AWM, Remington look exactly the same?

BO, CS:S, CF and mw1. All the variants look like the same...though Remington looks like a buffed up M700.

Let me clear this up because you kids are seem somewhat idiotic.

The AW was a sniper rifle.

The AW was then remade multiple times for multiple tasks.

The AWM is a Artic Warfare Magnum, it chambers a .338 lupua.

The AWP is a Artic Warfare Police, it chambers a .223 (correct me if I'm wrong), it has a shortened barrel for close range combat, and a faster bullet velocity needed for urban warfare. It is used by swat teams often in hostage situations.

They are two COMPLETELY different guns.
