AT&T U-verse Question
I just got off the phone with a "tier 2 Supervising network representative" that had no flippin' idea what the set bandwidth of a node is, he told me "I have no information on the network side of things". Wut.
I get 64 ping between 12:01AM and 5:30PM, and 200+ ping from 5:30 to 12:00 Exactly. My question was what was causing the heightened latency besides neighboorhood/area traffic, which shouldn't affect a specific household's bandwidth.
I get 5.8mbps download speed during the day, and 4.8mbps at night.
.9mbps upload during the day, and .62mbps at night.
21 ping during the day, and 39 ping at night. (All on speedtest.net to a server in Atlanta)
I have reset the modem, restarted my computer, opened the ports on the modem(which made it slower...), and I'm the second house connected to the node in front of my neighborhood.
Anyone have an INTELLIGENT idea as to why this is happening?

I have never seen anyone's ping go up at specific times every day.i live in the ATL as well but as far as crossfire severs go, peoples ping have been going up in the mid day on crossfire. as for an answer to why this is, there is none -
It's a gradual ping spike that's been happening to alot of people lately... First you start out with normal ping, then at noon time, the gameplay gets a bit un smooth which then I see my ping and it's at 95-108.. Playable but not fun. Then usually at the earliest, 5pm, the ping spikes up to over 200.. It can't be a fault on our side.. It has to be something with the servers themselves.. Too many people having the same problem at the same exact times...

True.. I just don't have any idea what to do anymore other than changing providers which I am not going to do... I don't understand why Cross Fire is having this problem. Even when the servers are crowded I dont lag... It's like on times.. It keeps getting worse and worse as the day goes on.

I think it has something to do with one of the nodes in the path to the servers. I currently can not play at all because the path is broken. I have to use aproxy just to get to here. I have other players in my clan around your area with the exact same problem. The only thing they can do is play in the south servers. Ping still higher than normal but they dont have the spikes as bad.
