Strategy vs. Aim
Know when you play Alaska? And all these idiots just keep running forward instead of maybe lurking through that door behind your spawn or instead of mabe defending your spawn?
JEEEEZ those teams always make me loose, people say Strategy means pretty much nothing, I do NOT agree.
Call of Duty told me to not chase your enemy, to wait somewhere behind cover for your chaser and to get "behind" people more. Also as we all know working as a team is EXTREMLY important.
So I´d say to be perfectly succesfull, there´s 30% Strategy involved, 50% (aiming) skill and the rest (20%) luck.
PS: With luck I mostly mean, lucky because there are guns like the M12...snief

Without a perfect strategy the allied would`nt have won the 2nd world war .
In game it`s all about it also . How do you think I may have ace with that F....ing ping I have?
Try running around a map and have kills with 268 ping ,then you will see what I am talking about .:D -
Does not apply for S&D or GM. mainly when you deserve a win for your team.forever119 wrote: »this game CF it's mostly AIM.. if u can aim, u can kill ur enermies once u saw them..
so it's 80% aim 20%strategy ..
once u saw someone, aim click Headshot...
Unless you are better than an ( aimbot ,one shot kill , Wall ) Hacker . Then you may play alone and win the game against 15 on the other team

I actually was just wondering about this, however not on something as simple as Alaska.
I find that I'm quite good at reading people. In everything from pubs to scrims, I know what my opponents are going to do 9/10 times.
However...I can't finish it. My aim isn't as good. (Now, I understand the plethora of "that's what she said" jokes that could arise from this, but please contain yourselves). Now, I've been playing pistol matches for the past week to work on that, but I still find that I simply can't finish. The opposing team, on the other hand, simply rushes with very little strategy. Yet they will spin-headshots on me. Take BW, B site. You can camp above the window with an AWM, viewing the doorway. Nobody checks there immediately, due to the more likely camping place on the same level / diagonal and up from the window (the wooden beam that sticks out). Thus, it's an easy kill. I'll QS one, drop down, circle to mid. Yet, the next time they go through (wary of that spot, and checking it first), I'll come up from behind. Again, I'll kill one. Perhaps two. Then they simply spin around and headshot me.
I know my aim is at fault. I run a consistent 20-40 FPS (unless I'm listening to music, then my FPS drops to 15-16. In tandem with a sub-thirty ping, I can't blame anything else. I just am annoyed, and wanted to QQ how that, even with horrendous strategy/mindgames/reads, those who aim well...well, are better. :-)
Edit: this is more in regards to what Ghost is saying, instead of the OP's thoughts on pubs. -
strategy is not like camping and shoot . it`s more when you use your brain and tackle with a hard situation and win the kill.
Example : In Lost relic at B entrance ( wooden path ) is a place where I usually camp and secure this site . If someone comes on the path he is dead before he reach the ladder but some good players may have you by rushing from behind and kill you .
so I got a friend who is very good at ghost and always try to get me up there by rushing me from behind . LOl now he can`t do that anymore cause I put him in a ( which side is he? ) situation .
He spotted me from the pillar and run in the corridor to come to me . I heard his foot steps and changed side . He came to hit me on Left side and I was waiting for him on the right side hahaha . I pwn his ass .
so this strategy saved my life and also stopped him from coming to me from behind through that door:D -

....allies had a terrible strategy they just threw men at a beach, hitlers had flawless strategy's before his mind went loopy anyway and decided to break the non aggression pact with russia, if not for that they would have won it for sure.
and as for the topic, strategy is important, my new favorite strategy is seeing where my team is having a long firefight where neither sides can gain ground, i go around and ra.pe them from behind, ofc you need some degree of aim to do that, otherwise your gunna get smoked but strategy can make a average player into a pub star
note: this is only true if you dont have aimbot, if you do, screw strategy you dont need it -

Um no? Hitler was pretty strategically advanced but the allied eventually were able to out strategize him. Have you watch the history channel? I think you need to.1of300sparta wrote: »and as for the topic, strategy is important, my new favorite strategy is seeing where my team is having a long firefight where neither sides can gain ground, i go around and ra.pe them from behind, ofc you need some degree of aim to do that, otherwise your gunna get smoked but strategy can make a average player into a pub star

Lol... that is called a strategy that requires aim.... none the less still a strat. -
Considering the lack of natural resources (oil in particular), and fighting the russians - while setting up defenses against bombing raids and sabotage while still being on the offensive, Hitler was an amazing strategist (talk about a run-on sentence).
If he hadn't made so many enemies who knows what the world would be like today. -

like i said, before he lost his mind and made stupid movesRedSplatter wrote: »Considering the lack of natural resources (oil in particular), and fighting the russians - while setting up defenses against bombing raids and sabotage while still being on the offensive, Hitler was an amazing strategist (talk about a run-on sentence).

well alot of the russians werent even armed, they wernt very creative with their strategy, just borrowed the one that defeated napolean, but yes strategically i think hitler had no equal except perhaps by rommel,
if japan didnt mess with usa, and germany didnt touch russia, we would be run by nazi's -
He still was an assh*ole...RedSplatter wrote: »Considering the lack of natural resources (oil in particular), and fighting the russians - while setting up defenses against bombing raids and sabotage while still being on the offensive, Hitler was an amazing strategist (talk about a run-on sentence).

And the allies didn't just rush the beach, they were also heavily bombing them from all sides.
but i wouldnt call heavy bombing a brilliant strategy....i mean the calais feint was pretty smooth, but not a amazing unprecedented idea..
1 thing i have to give props to the allies is the movable harbors, that was ingenious -
It seems that you are well documented on that part of history1of300sparta wrote: »but i wouldnt call heavy bombing a brilliant strategy....i mean the calais feint was pretty smooth, but not a amazing unprecedented idea..

im bringing this back to off topic, but in basketball working hard is better than talent, hence im better than this guy in my school and hes a talented basketball player, I worked my ass off for the past couple of years and i can dunk over him, all he can is touch the rim over no one
p.s. im in grade 9/freshmen for you americans -
Let me work on these topics in reverse:
Talent doesn't beat hard work unless talent works hard.
Hitler was a military genius, along with an exceptional speaker. It's a genuine shame about the whole, y'know, genocide thing.
You need to aim to be a good player. However, strategy is exceptionally important depending on what you label strategy as.
