I couldn't watch the frags because of the editing lol
    couldn't pay attention
EDIT: just payed attention to frags, some are good some not
  • mehh, i thought it was good. my personal opinion, is fk sync in a long movie. also ik the quality was bad, but can i help it? its my computer that blows. also the song was for the fun of it, because he didnt care what song.
  • imho, the colors seemed bland. Frags were good, FPS wasn't great, and you overused simple effects. Sync is really important in movies. Overall, 3/5. With some time and tutorials, you could be a great editor.

^lazy...and that's exactly what i saw in the movie. laziness.

There was opportunity to use great frag effects (which you tried) but because you didn't try hard enough aka lazy you made the frags look worse.

Colors weren't that great and neither was the quality.

There were some random effects that seemed awkward and just put in because you didn't know what else to put.

Frags were decent. Seems like it was mostly against bads :\.

I'd recommend watching a few top cf movies/clips (to relate to the game) or any other game for that matter (normally better editors).

edit: about song choice; choose songs you like but keep in mind you have an audience and you want to engage them into the movie/clip. Make them feel part of it so to say.

I watched at least 3 of neof's clips. Watched Cg movie 3 times and pdx 2 movie. Didn't help a bit. Gave me ideas of effects to use, doesn't mean I can use them right.

It's not worth editing any more. Nobody likes them. I'll take all of them down, prolly tomorrow.

EDIT: I can't improve if "good editors" don't give me tips on what I'm doing wrong.

i'm not a 'good editor' but i'll give a few tips. don't use the same effects over and over again. try recording at a different fps, might make it lag less. change the pan/crop. DON'T GET LAZY. that's one of the first things that will trash your edits. be creative, just think about random things and it will pop into your mind. use MBL to make colors, if it doesn't work, watch Rey's color correction tutorial. hope i helped.
  • Guys help him out, don't just spout out negative comments. This whole event is about improving our editors as well as showcasing the better editors too. No one is going to get better with people who just comment with negativity.
  • i wouldn t overload the video with effects, especially not those effects that make the viewer dizzy >). work more with colors and depth. effects are good as long as they are not distracting the viewer from the frags (which are good in your video). music is not a good choice btw. doesn t fit the game at all, but maybe thats just me >)

respect to you and all participants for actually creating videos using this ........ replay system .
  • ....Colours weren't great, the thing you kept trying to sync was rihanna saying "yeah", and that wasn't even on sync. And when you slowed the video down, it was really laggy.

    The video overall was sloppy.

I've told you what you did wrong and most of it is laziness.

You sound like you are complaining that the good editors don't give you tips but yet you say "fk sync in a long movie."

So if you want "tips" the most I can say is: Patience. You need to both have the patience and be able to come up with original but outstanding ideas to become a unique and successful editor. You just need to edit more and get more familiar with vegas (and any other editing/recording program).

side note: I don't know why you would bring the videos down...if they are that "embarrassing" or whatever you would call them, then that shows you haven't put in the effort. 90% of my edits are horrid because I created those 90% once a day within the first few months of a editing. I learned that I needed to take my time.

For reference: [CF] Core Gaming (8 min movie) took a month and it was a fairly clean edit.

i spent 3 weeks on this movie, dreen likes it. he is going to help me out. i dont expect great editors to give me tips in person, i did ask an editor for a tip on something and got told to " fk off." Reey helped me a lot actually.

I will ask mod's to close this thread until i get the movie remade. all of my previous clips will come down.

They are just scared of people getting better then themselves :p thatsall. LucK has been helping me tho.. at least he said he would :/ Im trying my best tho T_T
  • Was really flashy. Didn't enjoy the graphics to much but I think that you should focus on your transitions. Good luck!
  • Meh. . . Sorry but not that great. o_o

Next time record gameplay and not the replays. :D
  • From what you've said, it's pretty obvious that you don't actually enjoy editting. You want a quick way to perfection, rather than the long route of self-improvement. If that's the case, you will never get enjoyment out of editting.
