Devs listen up

why do you continue to add useless garbage to this game, when there are so many ongoing problems that still need to be fixed?

the one issue that really irritates me is that when someone shoots me, I stop DEAD in my tracks. when I shoot someone else, they can keep on running and jumping around like nothing is wrong. you seriously need to fix the hit detection in this game, and level the playing field a bit.

second, you still don't support certain VERY common screen resolutions. the one I am thinking of specifically is 1680x1050. why is there no support for this? LOTS of people have monitors with this native resolution, and running a game on an LCD monitor in anything other than its native resolution results in a significant reduction in quality.

third, on my computer, which has dual monitors, I have to MANUALLY change screen resolution to one of the supported modes in order to play full screen. this is ridiculous. every other game I play switches modes automatically, and this has been a problem ever since I switched to windows 7. I cannot believe that I am the only one with this problem, and the devs just don't seem to care. I reported this issue when I first noticed it, and the support people basically told me to just keep changing my screen resolution manually, and that it wasn't a serious enough problem to bother with.

weapons are another issue altogether, but it's not even worth talking about the scar light or m12s because once again, the devs just don't care. they listen to the noob whiners instead of the pro gamers, when it's likely that the pro gamers are the ones who put the most real money into this game.

so my rant is over. I know that once again the devs will ignore all of these issues, because they would rather add useless new weapons and character decorations.

  • You do realize CrossFire is a "free" to play game? Obviously, other games that cost money are going to have better features than CrossFire.

    1. I never seem to stop DEAD in my tracks if I get hit, just slowed down a bit, perhaps it's because of the weapon they're using? The worst is when I'm sniping and I get hit when I'm in scope, then the scope goes everywhere.

    2. So the quality isn't as good if the resolution isn't as great, CrossFire's graphics aren't that great anyway, just be thankful this is only a graphical issue.

    3. I don't have to manually adjust screen resolution on Windows 7 OR Windows XP. I remember having to do that to run certain games back on my Windows 98 though. Maybe this is because you set your monitors to too high of a screen resolution? You're actually the first person I know who has this problem.

    4. Yes, I do believe they should nerf the M12s, I think the Scar Light is fine, just has no disadvantages and is REALLY easy to use.

Actually, I DO think they have a lot of useless things in CrossFire, when was the last time you saw someone with a football helmet on? Those things cost zp, are temporary, and do absolutely nothing.

CrossFire is a free to play game, even if you do buy zp, no one forced you to, so don't complain about how you "bought" this game or spent money on it so therefore it should be better. CrossFire is the first and last time I ever spent/spend money on a free game.
  • Um the devs are all the way in South Korea, they dont go to this forum brah!!!
  • I just feel like I'm entitled to a little support because I actually have spent real money to support this game. I'm a paying customer, and I'm not satisfied with the product I've recieved, and in any rational person's mind, I should be entitled to some kind of satisfaction.

I work as a software developer for a living, and I have done graphics in directx that required a mode switch, and all I can say is that my issues are caused by laziness on the part of the devs. switching modes is an incredibly easy (even elementary) thing to do in code, and there's no excuse for it not to work. supporting other resolutions is also a very easy thing to do. it's a simple matter of using a different pair of constants for x and y scaling. sure, the HUD would need some changes, but a graphical artist could accomplish that in literally 5 minutes.

the scar light has been nerfed so many times, it is now a nearly useless weapon. I have expended as many as 12 rounds to kill a player with full hp and no armor, with ping roughly equal to mine. in contrast, the m4 (which fires the same round in real life) takes about 5-6 rounds. this is absolutely unacceptable.

I still feel that the scar light is the best weapon in the game, and I continue to use it because I have tuned my playing style around its characteristics. the playing field is not level with regard to this weapon though, and that should be rectified.

The only product you've purchased from Z8 is ZP. If your ZP hasn't functioned as described , or you've had problems with an in game item you purchased with ZP, you're entitled to your dissatisfaction and should contact support to resolve the issue. On the other hand, if you're complaining about the basic functionality of the game itself, it's about as rational as being dissatisfied with the company that makes your TV because you don't like any of the channels.

If you're a professional developer, than you understand that to determine whether or not this can be fixed in literally five minutes you'd need to be fairly familiar with the game's source code. I'm also reasonably sure you don't work for Smilegate and have never seen CF's source code.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're not trolling here. At the same range, the M4A1 does thirty damage on a chest shot, and the SCAR Light does 31. Both guns kill in about four shots. Unless you're hitting nothing but the legs, this sounds like a latency issue between you and the server.

Finally, as previously stated, the developers don't read these forums. If you have something you'd like to them, your best course of action is to contact a GM or support.
  • I agree with the resolutions part.

I cannot stand these horrible resolutions.. It's been WAY too long since they made the CF resolutions thread and they really need to step up on that.

Yeah...seriously. Not just that...the other stuff they made. Kick vote in MM/FFA, stacking, etc.

They also have to fix the bug you get when you zoom with a weapon in 1400x900 resolution. Your screen stays zoomed a bit and it makes you dizzy...

My native monitor res is 1280x768. I can't even use the widescreen ones.

I mean hell, in league of legends they have like 20 resolutions.
  • Ah...well look at BlindRob's thread. (if you want of course :S)
    It explains it well

Its awesome in that resolution but...that just ruins it :/
  • The other thing that bugs me about this game is that the armor you can buy is basically worthless. I still die just as quickly from both grenades and gunfire, so what's the point? especially the helmet... how does it protect your head? you still die with one headshot from any weapon.

    That's my res. too ...

According to this Dec. 2010 survey, 18.34% of the user base have it:

    Come on guys ...

I tested the armor once, it lessened the damage done by an M4 by 13 give or take 3 to the chest.
