Build one if you don`t want to come and ask question about " Why do I have low FPS.? why it takes me sooooo long to start CF ? Do I need to change my Graphic card ? ETC. ETC."e***xampLLLE wrote: »alright. i need a new computer cause mine is just gonna give out soon. i WILL NOT build my own. that leaves me to pre built PCs. will this run well?

Most of the stuff in that Walmart PC are outdated, especially the processor.
Pretty over-priced.
because i'm not gonna do hardcore gaming on it. probably just gonna run word, surf the web, play cf on it. i'm pretty sure 4 gig ram and a gt430 can run cf, can't it? and how old is the processor? -
would it be able to run for a few years? i won't be playing more than cf, since i'm starting to ski. won't have time for games. The processor honestly isn't that good but it's more than enough for Crossfire, you should be able to play quite a few other games if the need arises. I'd expect around 100+ fps in CF in 8v8s and a bit more in 5v5s.
this current pc i have has been running for 5 years, its AMD 64 3700+, geforce 6150 LE, 2 gig ram. pretty sure this new one will be better.
i would never buy an AW. costs too much.CrackinDomes wrote: »Don't listen to the people saying Alienware. Overpriced PC's for uneducated people.
You pay 3000$ for an Alienware. i Build 3 towers just as good for 3000$. Your just simply paying for the name. -

Yea as long as you take care of it I don't see why not. I've had my computer for around 5 years also although I've upgrade a lot. -

yeah, gonna make sure to take care of it. didn't really care for this one, but it lasted me a good while. and by the way, can i take the hard drive out of my current pc and put it into my new one, and still have the hard drive it comes with? -

i must admit that alienware is a bit expensive: £800 for a basic AW computer when i can get a better custom computer for £700 but AW are the only company i know of that make gaming pcs -

You would be better off just keeping the new HD but yes you can take it from your old comp and put it in your new one. -

Ahh I see, I was thinking for the future though. A GT430 is pretty much the same as a GT220, you won't be running Crysis at great lengths, but it'll get you through most everything else. Shouldn't cost much to upgrade anyways. You'll certainly be able to play CoD4 on max.
The processor's decent since it's Quad, but Athlons have a tendency to not use its whole power when you need it to, they stay 'idle' too often for my liking. If they have any Phenom II Tri-Cores, I'd go for that instead, since it should be roughly the same price. -
i mean i want to keep both, if its possible because i have a bunch of stuff on this HD.You would be better off just keeping the new HD but yes you can take it from your old comp and put it in your new one.
if it can run cod4, its fine for me. thanks so much for your help, i don't wanna be buying some piece of crap that won't work. and it won't overheat will it, since its prebuilt i'm assuming that the build has the necessary items to keep it from overheating.CookieMunzta wrote: »Ahh I see, I was thinking for the future though. It shouldn't get too warm anyway, since pre-builts clock to a particular speed and work-rate (unless OC'd). You don't have any more details on it though do you? There's nowhere that specifies the fan size or PSU.
P.S. I just noticed it's 64-Bit, which is better for CF and editing.
