Socket error : W[2000] L[10053]

I haven't played CrossFire in the last few months.
I patched the game on 26th of November, but when the HGW Game Watcher was running,
it stopped at 53%, and after 2 minutes an error came up: Socket error : W[2000] L[10053].
I saw this thread on another post and it said to disable UPnP but it didn't work. I tried disabling AntiVirus, Restarting the computer, re-installing the game, re-downloading the client,
but nothing worked! I have been trying for hours now to fix this ******* problem but the error just keeps showing up! So, the error is:

Socket error : W[2000] L[10053]

i got a same problem. Sometimes game reloads till log in screen and nothing i can do,shows only the game is loading still.Sometimes i got socket error...ftw. Gona work on this...

MMMM i had the same problem with my dad's laptop this what i did for xp, go to control panel, sercuity center or firewall settings, click exceptions, then add program find crossfire there you go, if it happens again restart cf, it works too Good luck guys

Happened to me before. I deleted CF after a week or so. Then downloaded it again and it worked so... Try that maybe if you haven't idk.

alright.. i done both things:
reilstalled cf - dosent work still.
added cf in firewall exceptions and restarted pc - dosent work STILL.

BDW now i dont get that socket error. I start game--->loads screen where you need to put login -->mouse shows the game still loading.. loading...loading and i can put login and to go in game...just loading loading...
help me please!

yes i done uninstall cf and redownloaded it, installed [disabled antivirus program and firewall], restarted computer. And I can't still login in the game. what i should do more?help me pls!

maybe its a xtrap problem, delete your xtrap folder and "HGWC.exe" and replace it with this:

yea i replaced xtrap thing and nothing. still game is loading and loading. Can't write my login and go in game. pls help me who had that problem, or anyone who has any ideas what it could be?

What are you downloading it from?
Have you removed CF and everything belonging to CF before re-download?
