Time to be honest.
The last 24 hours have been a stressful experience. Before yesterday i had only played a couple of times S&D and had never been in a clan war before. Then got accepted into forumers clan.Everygame i have played i got my ass kicked,I don't even know the s&d maps very well.My reaction time is also pretty bad.
My computer doesn't help much with only 512mb RAM(384 after video card takes its bit).20 fps at best in full room.So what do i do.Thinking to myself maybe i should just quit competitive crossfire although i love this game.An older player(40) like myself is having doubts that i can improve.
I don't want to let the clan down and get negative scores.Even though i will earn points from MM and also from TD egypt which i played mostly before as my fps didnt't affect game so much.My k/d on TD is in positive but only just 14000/12000.
I'll try in the next days to see if it i can improve.I really don't have a problem and would indeed encourage it.If the clan don't feel i am upto it to please just kick me.
On 7th Feb must go back in Rehab clinic anyway for 3months.They will let me out in evenings so maybe will still play a bit in that time.
So Thats my crossfire history and where it lies at moment.I don't care if anyone trolls.I am a man enough to take it.
Funny when i look back when i used to play sensible soccer on amiga or lots other retro games my reactions where fast. But since that time my body has taken a lot of abuse. So to all the good players out there i played with i am a bit envious but i respect the skill.
Look me up in game and i will happily play. But don't expect miracles from me as you can't teach an old dog new tricks.I think for me i have to accept my limitations and enjoy crossfire for what it is.A diversion in this crazy life to get away from it all for a few hours.
Then will give the rest of time improving my world and devoting myself to my little daughter.
Thanks for reading.

Any chance you can get a new comp? I seen lots of cheap ones for less than $300 tht would run cf 8v8 snd at atleast 40fps. I think the 20 fps thing is really holding you back. Well good luck on cf and irl and its good to see that you are spending alot of time with your daughter. I know i love spending time with my dad.

hey man don't worry, it's all about enjoying yourself, if you don't enjoy yourself, that's a good reason to stop playing. but as long as you're still havin' a blast, who cares about how you're doing?
your clan will understand, not everyone can be the best you know :P
this is coming from 1 of the best crossfire players ever, don't give up man, just keep on keepin' on and enjoying yourself. there's no use in playing if you aren't havin' fun though, that's for sure.
remember:practice makes perfect

Unfortunately money is tight at moment. In the future would like to get a new computer. But bills have to be paid and mouths have to be fed.But thanks for your comments. -

Hey dude dont sweat it.
After you start playing for "fun" the game becomes alot better.
I dont like clan wars for the sheer confusion of listening to people chatter while trying to listen in game. Totally messed with my game. I generally do horrible in CW and don't like CW anymore anyway.
Found good fun in Ghost Mode. Hated it until i watched buckfutters Ghost mode tutorial on you tube.
If you aint as good as others so what. Im sure your better than others also. After you get to learn the maps you see your sweet spots and your spots to watch out. Then it becomes more fun.
As long as you learn in this enviornment it will always be fun.
Being competitive is bad for this reason:
There are hacks and VIP hacks especially that just won't go away. There have been more than 1 "top rated" players that have been eventually found out to hack. So competitive Crossfire is not really a stable place to judge your skills mano y mano.
Dont sweat it. Look for the places in the game you like and keep at it. You can improve even after 40

I am glad to hear are a few other older players on here other than me (41 1/2)!
I don't see my KDR getting much above 1.3 either. lol -

Yep....enjoy the game, but don't let it consume ya. Get outside and get some fresh air.
I stated this a few times in other threads, but my wife threatened to put "Cross Fire Butter Ball" on my tomestone someday, I say honey, "It's Butterbar!" But that got me thinking...

I've played with you today in Us3r's and my forumer room.
A good player is one that is respectful and does not troll even if the other person is terrible. I respect you for coming out and being brave enough to come out and say that you have problems.
The first step to improving is being able to admit that you are wrong. I know players that will say that they are the best in the world, but still can't do anything like making a legitimate kill. Many people just come out and say, "Oh, I'm having problems with life. That's why I'm doing so bad." You have the guts to come out and say that you are having problems and don't want to let anybody else down.
I envy the fact that you can do something as prestigious as admitting a problem.
Good luck with future endeavours man! -

nah man. like D said: we play for fun!
you dont need to push yourself to do better if you dont need to. -

^ This is so true, and very well-spoken. Words of the one, the only, 0zz ( I tried to make that seem coolhey man don't worry, it's all about enjoying yourself, if you don't enjoy yourself, that's a good reason to stop playing. but as long as you're still havin' a blast, who cares about how you're doing?

)Fk no.
no one from this clan will kick you just bcs you do good or bad, we play for fun,you don't have to leave if you feel like you must.
Yah, forumers clan wouldn't kick anybody unless they're annoying. -
I must say i that i greatly appreciate all of the forumers that have kindly given their sincere words to this thread.I value of the comments.I feel alot more relaxed and at ease than i did an hour or 2 ago.
Maybe i will give it another shot now.Got nothing to lose. -
There is a lot of cheap computer's but that are decent enough to play Crossfire full graphic without lag even at 8v8 TD
My friend brought a 500$ laptop and he can run fallout 3 but at low graphic and he play without lag
and if you don't wanna buy a new computer, i suggest game booster or a good trick to get more bits
1st you Ctlr+Alt+Delete
2nd Start Task manager
3rd go to processes, find explorer.exe and end process and make sure that nothing useless(msn, internet browser etc)that takes alot of memory is open while you play
and when you end explorer.exe, the crossfire launcher has to be there otherwise you wouldn't be able to see it. And to open explorer again you do ctrl+alt+delete again>new task>type explorer.exe et voila!
hope it helped
gaming performance guaranteed -

Sounds interesting.Have often done the ctrl/alt/delete thing to close processes but never thought about closing explorer. Will give that a try cheers for the tip. -
Just keep working away trying to improve but always just have a good, positive attitude and believe in your strenghts :P :P
Look at me. I'm shiit but im still in one of the best EU Teams
what are you talking about? your apeschit team sucks sooooo much Oo -
What's up Station. I sucked balls at snd when i first started playing too. You just have to keep playing, familiarize yourself with the maps. Learn where people go, where they hide, different strats. And set yourself a set route, then you can custom yourself to certain sounds, etc.
About your fps ? Why don't you upgrade.. It's not expensive. It's less expensive than all the zp you have bought . xD -
very honest post. respect. as long as you enjoy the game, play it. who gives a damn about e-fame anyway? i know alot do, but in the end what is it worth? when your not exactly a korean "pro" you can´t make a living out of gaming. oh and i can tell you, even on better computers the game produces major issues. netcode and engine are a mess.

i played cf since march 2009 and recently stopped. my fps on my laptop was 15-30 in 8v8. $400 walmart laptop. then i bought a gaming pc and upgraded my internet. my ping droped 33 units and fps rose sky high 200 +fps. my kdr and gameplay shot up similarly, so much that my kdr vs. competitive players/community was 2.0 plus. most times i've pubb or scrimed in echo8 & west1 i was ace AND mvp. my point is that how well you perform in this game is mostly dependent of ping and fps, not brains or any "god given ability" so if you can't hold down a certain kdr, dont let it bring you down. just have fun and use cf as a way to get away from the stress of life. as for playing MM, my cf friends and clanmates always complained as to why i play MM so much so if even you wanna just sit back and play a few games of MM, holla at ya boi. -with regards
