Idk, but here 16-18 isn't counted as pedophilia, but 17-19 is. Gonna be fun when august comes. -

While I am happy with the outcome of my decisions I try to encourage others to take a different path. Go to college. Live life before you decide to get married and have kids because once you become a parent most of your free time and fun time is over.iShopBellaOo wrote: »To an extent that isn't logical.
But at the same time it's understandable. But the question is, will the op's girlfriend feel the same way if she was knocked up? While you took it with joy, she may find resentment in it, and the child growing up with a broken home would then be resentful, a vicious cycle ensues, I suppose in this case it is as Rex said, you would need both parents to be happy and content for it to really work.
& as for the child growing up in a "broken" home...I know how it feels. I've done it. It's not what I wanted for my child which is why I always tell people to wait and live their life before making such huge irrational decisions. Some parts may sound contradictory or hypocritical cause of the things I've done. But I'm happy now..I wasn't for the past 4 years up until a couple months ago. Being a parent is one of the hardest things in life to do.
Like girls in my town started popping babies out like the baby boom era. This was all after I graduated...they don't realize how hard it is and then some of their children ended up being taken care of by someone else.
It's a tough world. -
No, we aren't, BUT if we took ideas from other countries, if we combined them with our own, if we accepted the beliefs others had, we could finally form a good government.
The laws shouldn't get in the way of what we were meant to do anyway as humans, love and reproduce. I can understand how we protect ourselves from 12 year olds being with 21 year olds, but after 16, your life is more your own. And as the USA, we are the Land of the Free, are we not?
No, we are not the land of free. At least not anymore.
This is not a true democracy as much as we try to make it look like one.
My only issue is that at 16, you have the ability to take control a vehicle weighing a ton, drive it on streets possibly endangering the lives of other human beings, yet cannot date a person older than you?
The laws are in place and you must obey them, but they are wrong to an extent.
The reality is, laws are made by politicians wanting to be re-elected, so they put out laws that are what they think people will want, and spout how it is all about protect our children and future generations when the harsh reality is our world is nearing the end anyway.
It is an extremely short distance to the atmosphere. I'm too lazy to calculate the exact volume of area between the surface and the atmosphere, but it is small enough if gas stopped escaping it would take what. A year for the air to be nothing but toxic gas? -

Well, I don't know a broken home, but I knew an abusive one for a while. Once you lose trust in a parent it's simply impossible to regain it. That's why I honestly think people should wait until their lives are entirely settled and have a proper home for raising a child. I'm not saying it can't be done in a non perfect home, mostly because there is no such thing.
A child needs to be able to trust that his/her parents will be able to support love and care for him/her before he is able to trust himself. -

Alright, I basically cleaned up our discussion haha.
I hope Mike is happy with everything, that's all that really matters
I do say though, when people aren't trolling, the forums can have quite an interesting debate.
I agree.
The problem is, most of the things posted on the forums don't offer a chance for debate.
Therefore the people on forums need something to do and fall back on trolling. -
Red Herring argument, kid
Not really. I was under the assumption the topic was beginning to drift more into a discussion of political and sociological freedoms in America.
The pollutant statement ties in with the fact politicians try to use cheap laws to protect people to keep people away from the harsh reality that is the world slowly becoming more and more dangerous even with their "laws" -

We as parents all do make mistakes, even I can admit I have made some. But we all live and learn.
But at the end of the day I can't take any of it back and I wouldn't even if I had the opportunity.
I just do wish some people were smarter about their decisions
We can't control anyone but we definitely can influence their decision. -

Well, I certainly have no experience with this of course.
But I can from a teenagers point of view parents do a fine job, even if we don't want to admit it.
Looking back on all the times I f*cked life up and my parents bailed me or my brothers out, I realize parents really do care. Even if we don't. -
The discussion you guys had, was in the beginning about Mikey and his gf.iShopBellaOo wrote: »Not really. I was under the assumption the topic was beginning to drift more into a discussion of political and sociological freedoms in America.

Then someone switched to "laws" and "marriages" and that's Red Herring, you guys started to turn it into a law debate.
Let Mikey live happily with his gf.

We've all had the times in our life where our parents say "we're doing this because we love you" and take it for granted sometimesiShopBellaOo wrote: »Well, I certainly have no experience with this of course.

The biggest problem that comes with being a teenage mom, is that a baby doesn't pull its weight as a study buddy.

Hahahaha, way to add a touch of a humor to a otherwise drearily serious thread. The biggest problem that comes with being a teenage mom, is that a baby doesn't pull its weight as a study buddy.

-hug-?I know it sounds funny, but I'm quite serious. Its near impossible to study for your exams with a infant crying in the background every 10 to 15 minutes.
