Why does crossfire take a while to load?
I got a slow computer. I've played this other game with much better graphics and it takes only a few seconds to load. It takes alot longer with crossfire. Will it ever be made faster and better in a future patch or something, without me having to get a better computer?

Cross Fire generally loads every single pack and file upon load-up. If you have a fast computer, it generally takes a matter of a few seconds.
The only solution would be to attempt to make your computer better. Either run Game Booster [trust me, it's very safe], update your computer, find ways to minimize usage, or just simply buy a new computer.
As for the reasons the other games give you better graphics is because they run on different things.
Hopefully more updates are taken, but with all of this adding of new content, I doubt that it will be any faster.
Just try to improve your computer. You don't necessarily have to buy a new computer, but adding gear to it [new processor, better graphics card, downloading latest drivers] could help a lot. -
I don't think graphics affect the loading time, it's probably just different coding between the two games that is the difference, maybe Crossfire has more files and is bigger?
Anyways, computers slow down after a while (even when you defragment your hard drive and uninstall useless programs) because of all the junk on there, and Windows isn't famous for being crash-free. If you want Crossfire to load faster, I suggest deleting unnecessary files. Game Booster as mentioned above works, but I only notice an improvement of FPS, not actual loading time.
One more thing, I noticed that when you load Crossfire the first time after Windows boots up, that's when it takes the longest. When you start Crossfire anytime after you already ran it once (assuming you didn't reboot in between), it loads quickly, my guess is that it stores information in the RAM or something, but I'm probably wrong. -

If you have a slow processor , even with 10 G RAM , it won`t make big diff.its all about your RAM.
trust me.. i used to have low RAM and it would take a minute or more to load.. then i got like 2 gigs.. and it loads in like 15 secs now. -

Wait , let me more explicit . Let`s say you have a slow processor and you have 512 Ram .then you add another 512 and your game load faster . this means that the game needs at least 1 gig to load smoothly. then if you put 4 gig , the game will still load at the same speed as the 1 gig .i never changed the processor.
it was slow back then when I was low on ram, not it's fast.
still with the same processor
But having a fast processor will result in a faster speed with 1 gig . even though if you add 10 gig to the fast processor it wont load faster , than with the 1 gig .
The Ram is the space where your comp. will process the files. if the files all together for the game makes about 900 Mg. then there is no need to have 10 gig of Ram for the computer to work on it .
So it`s like this : Slow processor with 1 gig will take X time to load and fast processor with 1 gig will load in -X time.
Got it ? -
