you should probably re-download and reinstall.

Have you done that Yourself? Because I don't wanna do all of that work for nothing. -
What i'm trying to say is that turn off your anti-virus disable and uninstall/delete all the z8/crossfire files, you can also use ccleaner to clean up you files/registry. Then restart reinstall crossfire again. Basically just do what the last guy said.
