With the gfx card I'm getting, it comes with a DVI to VGA adapter. Does that mean I can use my monitor which is VGA hook up, connect it to the adapter and plug it into the DVI port of the gfx card? If so, I wont need to buy a new monitor and I can save about $150
Yes, that is precisely what it does.
The DVI - VGA adapter converts the signals used in dvi to vga, so a 5870 would still work on a CRT monitor using VGA. -
Woo! Thanks for the good news, I can scrap the 1080p HD monitor I was gonna buy and use this oneYes, that is precisely what it does.

Haha, I still use a CRT monitor.
I prefer CRT anyway.

I honestly don't know, I just spend a lot of time reading technology websites and keeping track of technology, I have a firefox browser open 24/7 on a refresh loop to toms hardware. Every time something happens in technology I'm one of the first people to know. :P
Too bad my dad still yells at me and tells me I don't know anything and will never accomplish anything in life

But if you want more ram, just double that ram thats there. -
Exactly, though he does want to do video editing even then it's enough.SooperPickle wrote: »4GB is enough bro, trust me xD1of300sparta wrote: »wait how many is on there?
2 sticks of 2gbs, that means 4 gigs of ram, but it allows for 4 sticks to be put in, so you can have 4 x 2 gb sticks = 8 gb. -

Like I said you don't need one.
The motherboard has a soundcard on board.
I added that for those hardcore gamers who own 7.1 surround sound headsets that cost like 200 bucks each.
